Looking for nice, flat boots - suggestions please

I can't wear my heeled boots ATM so I'm after some nice calf length flats to go with skirts and trousers. Black or brown with minimal decor (biker boot style fine with me, lots of tassels not so much). Usual shopping level up to LK Bennett.

Please, wiser and much more stylish ladies than me, any suggestions?

I've just bought some Dr Martins which I looooove. Black patent but they do a nice matt black.

(they were a bit uncomfy to start with but my feet have now got used to them)

Matalan have some real leather calf length biker-ish boots in brown or black for £45. They have good reviews.
