FFS do I have WEIRD EYELASHES or something? Calling all mascara experts!

Well I have mad hair, a wonky spine and peculiar skin which goes berserk in the sun, but weird eyelashes is really taking the piss. I cannot for the life of me find a mascara which actually stays on the eyelashes rather than scattering itself along my lower lid after 20 minutes. Whenever I am out and use the facilities, whether that's in Tesco's of the pub, I am having to clean my lower eyelid of smudges of mascara either with wet tissue paper or a babywipe. I am currently using Maybelline falsies volume express or something (my eyelashes need all the help they can get) and even an allegedly 100% waterproof mascara doesn't stay where it ought to.

I have quite small, hooded eyes so like to open them out a bit, but nothing's working Do I just need to pay more and suck up the cost?

I know I should be grateful for my health and that I'm not starving and stuff, but this is disproportionately enraging me today.

Here endeth the rant.

Have mercy. I am in genuine need.

I tried a cheaper mascara recently and it was rubbish, so went back to Lancome. Also I don't put my mascara on my lower lashes. Oh and if I don't use a decent base makeup or use too much eyecream my eye makeup tends to smudge

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/02/2013 15:09

No I never put it on lower lashes.

I think I might just have to fork out more. Sigh.

Clinique lash power. It's a tubing mascara which coats your eyelashes in tubes of mascara. Remove with warm water but it doesn't smudge at all. It woll flake a bit at the end of the day. It's my everyday mascara - nit the most volumising.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/02/2013 15:29

Thank you :)

Depending on your budget, eyelash extensions could help? You can either go to your local salon or if you are any good with strip lashes then try the Eyelure individual lashes - I love them!!

CarpeJugulum · 27/02/2013 15:39

Maybe get your eyelashes dyed?

I got mine done, and then just used clear mascara to pep them up when I attended a wedding. Took the whole panda eye panic out of the day.

MrsTerryPratchett · 27/02/2013 15:51

I second get them dyed. Lasts for ages, you can swim, sweat and have sex!

valiumredhead · 27/02/2013 16:36

You need Max Factor Masterpeice - the black tube not the gold one.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/02/2013 17:06

I've had them dyed before. Only prob is that they are nonexistent on the sparse side so when I go out I need to top up with mascara anyway.

Blinc mascara. I have the same problem as you, and this is brilliant. Another tubing one.

AgathaF · 27/02/2013 18:02

What's tubing mascara?

Badvoc · 27/02/2013 18:06

Dye them?
I think you can do that....

LittlePandaBear · 27/02/2013 18:09

All mascaras smudge on me - except for the Estee Lauder smudge proof one. It actually works and you can get lengthening or volumising. It's around £20 but I wasted so much money buying £10 mascaras that I realised that £20 for one that works isn't that bad after all!

Do you curl your lashes? Mine are quite curly anyway so my smudging would always be above my eyes, rather than below. Perhaps you have straighter lashes if your smudging is beneath you eyes, and therefore curling them could help?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 27/02/2013 18:11

Of course I can.

I'd just like to know if there's a magic product.

Thank you for your suggestions.

I do curl them but only on special occasions. Is there an etiquette for that? Before or after mascara?

I use max factor eye brightening one on lower lashes
Maybelline rocket on uppers (as it looks amazing but smudges in lower ones!)

TheBeanAndTheBee · 27/02/2013 21:47

You need a "tubing" mascara, like blinc for example. ALL mascaras, including waterproof, do that to me. Blinc was a revelation. It just stays put! They do a sample size, so you can try it without much outlay, but I promise you this is the answer!!!

TheBeanAndTheBee · 27/02/2013 21:49

And always curl before applying mascara!!!
