Pilates for back help on DVD??

I've started Pilates to help me post back surgery etc and I love it. Love the whole idea of it, not just the exercise. Presence of mind and body together, stopping, thinking, breathing etc etc.

Because of the back condition so my teacher is taking it very steady. She is great. I am now confident of enough moves to start doing a bit at home between classes unsupervised, but think I will be a bit more motivated to do this if I had a DVD to follow at least in part to keep me going and remind me to breathe etc!

Can anyone recommend an entry level gentle-on-the-back Pilates DVD?

TIA

Hi there AnonymousBird

I have a DVD called Pilates 10 minute solutions, if you google it you should find it quite easily.

I've had lower back troubles recently and I've had to lay off my normal, more vigorous exercise a bit, and I've been doing the Stretch section of the DVD which has really helped.

It's split into 6 x 10 minute sections, each focusing on a different part of the body. Section 6 is the 10-minute Stretch section. The rest of the DVD is fantastic for body toning / strength too

I couldn't say how safe the other sections are for a recovering back, but I've really benefited from the stretches. Have to say though that my back pain wasn't excruciating, just constant low-level discomfort.

HTH :)
