Help, I need some Brilliant Basics

Can anyone help?

I'm looking for some really basic, but nice quality, plain black (and perhaps also white) 3/4 or long sleeve tight t-shirts (to wear under shift dresses and other tops).

I used to buy M&S limited collection ones, and they were fab, but they don't seem to do them any more.

I like ones that are cotton, with a bit of lycra and are 'fine' (as in you can't see the knitting of the fabric, if you know what I ,mean).

Any suggestions?

H&M?

here

Land's End. ££ but last for years and years.

Snootymum · 24/02/2013 19:53

Gap or H&M. I love basics from both of those

OneTwoOrThree · 24/02/2013 19:55

H&M ones are polyester, and I really want cotton.... but thanks anyway.

Lands End is somewhere I've never shopped, but willing to give it a go. Are their sizes 'average', or should I size up / down? I'm probably a small 12 (but bigger than a large 10).

I get the Supima cotton ones from M & S with lycra. They're perfect. Can't seem to get them online though, only in the underwear section for some reason.

Me too! I know the texture you mean and it is hard to find! I am after leotard shape

OneTwoOrThree · 24/02/2013 20:10

I've just splashed out on this from Lands End. Not cheap, but I've been looking for this kind of top for ages and ages, and am hoping this one fits the bill.

Noddy - so, so hard to find. Why do M&S stop making the one thing of theirs I love?!?

Gap Body, I love them.

Size down for Land's End. You need to order in US sizes, but there is a conversion on the website to do it. So, if you are normally a 12, get a 10, which is a US 6.

I like Baukjen (new name for Isabella Oliver 365) they are £££ but like the maternity stuff, the jersey is really good - I have this in white and black.
Usually have offers every so often - look for at least 15% but often can get more off.
