Please, please could someone take pity on me! I have my DD's First Holy Communion coming up and I haven't a clue what to wear or how to style an outfit. I live in leggings or jeans and boots and rarely have the opportunity to dress up these days.

I was thinking a dress and cardigan would be nice, want to look nice but not too over the top. Have seen this dress which I love uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_1,mon_1.2/3531456106

Was thinking could wear it with tan or brown heels? Any other ideas, I'm really panicking, want to look nice for my daughter.

Really like that dress, and tan heels would go well.
I'm assuming it's coming up soon? Given the weather, and the fact that churches always seem to be an ice-box, a chunky long line cardigan the same length as the dress would look well. I'd pick out the yellow/chartreuse colour from the flowers and try and find something along that line. It can then be 'styled up' with a skinny tan belt over the cardi.

Mind you, I also found this outfit while looking at cardigans on the Monsoon site. The cardigan itself is the wrong shape for the dress, but what would you think to the skirt & cardi combination they have there? Particularly if you don't dress up too much ATM you might get more wear out of separates?

It is in May so have about 8 weeks. I love that outfit but my daughter's specific request was "please no black mummy"! She knows me too well!

Hmm - it alleges it's grey though, so might be worth checking in the shop. It would also go well with tan.

Would something like this work? Bit edgier, but should still be ok for church.
