Bare Minerals not working

I've used Bare Escentuals mineral foundation for years & have always been happy, but recently I don't feel as if it makes any difference to my skin?! Last pot bought on Ebay together with new brush. Since Christmas have changed night cream from Liz Earle to Elemis but still use usual moisturiser in morning. Anyone else had this?

Could it have been fake Bare Minerals maybe? I occasionally buy on eBay but reading one sellers bad feedback the other day re fake BM has stopped me!

Could be I suppose! But I've even got the old tub out & tried that & it was the same! Could it be my skin??!

I wonder if it is the weather. Sounds silly but I used BM every day until about 1.5 months ago when it started going all funny on my skin. I'm back to using By Terry now and it looks much more natural.

I used it for a couple of years. Stopped as I felt it emphasised my wrinkles, maybe the powder getting stuck in them.

I've recently changed from the loose minerals to the ready as I felt I wasn't looking as dewy and finished if you see what I mean? I love the ready it's really easy to apply and less mess and fantastic coverage. Maybe give that a go?

Hi,
I used to sell/apply BareMinerals.

If I'm 100% honest, im the biggest fan in the world of the range and use it myself. But on clients I quickly came to know that BE is amazing for younger skin, or even damaged skin - covering Rosacea, scars, marks etc. what it isn't great for is wrinkles. As skin gets older (and it depends on the degree of wrinkling) I reluctantly changed to using a liquid foundation like MAC or YSL on them. BE just tends to emphasise the wrinkles.

That said, there are things that can help: always using a good primer underneath 10 mins or so before application makes a huge difference. I like Tensage Serum best for this. Making sure you're using the Buffing technique & maybe giving it an extra 5 mins buffing. & I'd avoid the area around & under the eyes - switch instead to Touché Éclat for this area.

Hope this helps

I have stopped using it too and have gone back to liquid. It just made my skin look horrible and dry and OLD!! It looked great for a long time prior to that though and all of my stuff was purchased in dept stores, so definitely bit fake.

I was wondering if if was the time of year? I have dry skin anyway and combined with the heating on and a newborn, I looked utter shite.

I have now bought Liz Earle tinted moisturiser, it has a very weird, claggy texture but it really does make my skin look lovely and healthy and dewy. For that, I can get over the texture!!!!

Grr, definitely NOT fake....

Yes, but with Lili Lolo foundation which is also mineral. For years and years it looked gorgeous and I often had comments on my 'glow' and lovely skin. In the last year though it has started to look different on me (just what you say about old and dry looking wicked) and my glow has all gone! I'm presuming in my case its to do with skin changes due to being on the cusp of the menopause at 52. Ive gone back to liquid foundation and transluscent powder but still use LL blusher which still looks lovely over the normal foundation/powder.
