Work dresses

I'm back to work next month after mat leave and can't fit into my old work clothes. I would like to buy a couple of dresses as it seems easier than thinking about trousers and tops to go together every day.

What sort of dresses would be good for work and where to buy from? I am 5'3 and size largish 12 with baby tummy still. I don't have a big budget so just need to do the best I can. Thanks

I have totally embraced dresses since going back to work. Dress on, tights, job done!

Have a look at Boden, phase-eight, monsoon and hobbs outlet.

I wait for the sales and then buy , mainly hobbs, vivienne westwood and phase eight, sometime planet have a few things to.

Have just bought a few new phase eight dresses for £20.

Don't rule out Sainsburys. I have a couple of lovely work dresses from there, that lots of people have commented on. One of my colleagues has started buying them from there too.
Dresses much more flattering to disguise baby tummy imo and much comfier!
I know they are not well liked on here, but I have a couple from m&s and next too as the petite is a better fit on my shoulders.

Thank you. What styles do you go for? I've seen a lot of shift types but would these be a bit tight on the tummy area? Also they're without sleeves so would need a cardigan or jacket I guess.
Any links for ideas would be great.

Something with a slight flare! Or maybe a tulip shape! You can go straighter if it is a high waisted stye or has a few gathers over the tummy.

I have just bought the Alexa dress from Boden, take a look.

I have a mix of fitted shift dresses, that you can wear with top or shirt under if you wish, and softer stretchier dresses. I always wear tights. Mix of short sleeve, long sleeved and no sleeves.
If you look on next, filter dresses, then workwear it will give you an idea. Depends on your budget but I would try a couple of different styles and see what you prefer. My current fave is a black one that kind of kicks out from the hips so very comfy I don't like them too restricting and i spend a lot of time in the car so dont like them to crease. I have a couple of lighter material ones for summer. Also Sainsburys have 25% off clothes at the minute!
