Budget Face Cream?

Hello everyone - I'm new hear so please be gentle with me!!!

I'm just coming to the end of my Estee Lauder Time Zone moistener and I am hoping you can help me to find a much more budget friendly face cream. I've used Estee Lauder face products for many, many years, but I just don't have the money for it now. I've also used M&S and The Body Shop body butters for body skincare and that will have to stop as well soon when I run out (unless they have some very good deals on!).

I have combination skin on my face, but dry skin on my body - am 58 - so looking for something I can use which is pleasant (I don't mind nice smelling stuff as I'm not sensitive) but that is nourishing too! I don't like 'greasy' moisturisers.

I seem to be faced with an overwhelming choice in the shops - and of course if I buy stuff which is not much good that is a waste of money as well!

Can you advise me? What are you all using?

I have not tried it but i think that aldi`s lacura range might be worth a try. See what others say when they come along

duracellbatterybunny · 21/02/2013 17:36

I use Lacura from aldi and I looooooooove it. Use the night cream for everyday, although my skins not really that dry. May go back to the day cream in the summer though. At £3.99 what is there not to like?

bigbuttons · 21/02/2013 17:38

aldi, for sure

suebfg · 21/02/2013 20:31

I used to use expensive creams (Lancome etc) but switched to Aldi face cream a few years ago. Have noticed no difference at all.

I also rate the Soap & Glory range too (especially when on a 3 for 2 offer)

Aldi Q10 renew face cream. It's great and as OP's ^ have said at under £4 it's a bargain. I struggled with trying to find a decent face cream for years - went through all of the high end brands and nothing worked and most left me with break outs. The Aldi cream is the only one I've stuck with and seen the difference its made to my skin.

I love the body shop Vitamin E intensive but at £10 a pot it is not budget as much as others.

It lasts for ages though as it is really strong

Fairylea · 21/02/2013 21:34

Astral. Its a bit greasy maybe but I have combination skin and I love it.

nellyjelly · 21/02/2013 21:36

Nivea.

GingernutButter · 21/02/2013 21:42

Olay--even their lower end range creams (about £4 a pot) are awesome. I've read many great editorials on them too.

As for body moisturising, you can't go wrong with Palmer's Cocoa Butter for thicker formulas, and Garnier's Intensive 7-Day cream for a lighter one.

BinksToEnlightenment · 21/02/2013 21:45

I agree with Soap and Glory

RedPencils · 21/02/2013 21:47

Aldi for me too.
Q10 day and night cream. Hyralaunic (sp?) eye cream.
Not tried any body lotion though, I got 3 lots of Boots body butter gift sets for my birthday and same again at Christmas. Think I'm good for a year!

HollyUK54 · 21/02/2013 23:48

Oh wow - some great suggestions here thanks very much.

Body Shop Vitamin E & Aloe Ranges are good for the face and I love their Shea body butter.

If you buy online they nearly always have an offer on, their offers are brilliant as well. At the moment you can buy 10 products and get 50% off.

HollyUK54 · 23/02/2013 00:40

Thanks everyone - plenty of food for thought!

I love Nivea. Never need to pay full price as it's usually either 3 for 2 in boots or half price in tesco/sainsburys.
