Please help me with my brogues!

I have a pair of brogues which I bought a good few years ago (before the trend, anyhow!) and they were handmade (but not bespoke!) from Italy (from Borini in Rome). They're leather, black, look like men's suit shoes, but don't have any holes in them - are they brogues?

What do I wear them with? I've never really worn them at all - I worry that they look to mannish.
They fit really well but I worry that they make my feet look long and narrow! I'm a size 5.

Thanks!

I love long narrow feet, they look elegant. No idea why people think short stubby feet are more attractive. I wear my brogues with short dresses, skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans and cigarette trousers.

Thank you! I think the black colour has been worrying me - can I wear them with, say, dark purple tights? Or just black tights? I mean with skirts and dresses.
(I have exceedingly skinny legs, but alas my general figure, short height and, er, looks prevent me from modelling! Grin)

I think my mistake was wearing them with my suit-style trousers - they're gap's 'curvy' style. I sort of looked mannish.

They will look good with skinny jeans - black or coloured, but not sure about denim. Also dresses and skirts with thick tights. If you are brave enough in summer wear with flowery ''pretty' dress, tanned legs and no tights.

I think what you have are Oxfords.

Mix mannish with a feminine touchs like a silk shirt and some pretty jewellery...works well IMO.
