dreaded thigh chafing!!

i have been reading a thread from last year and was wondering if anyone had had success with a particular brand?
im going to florida on honeymoon for a month in may and im dreading the chubb rub, despite loving the walking and exploring im dreading it, also apparently evans comfort shorts are no longer stocked??

£2 leggings from Primark. Cut at lower thigh for cycling short effect.

One white pair for under light coloured dresses, one navy/black pair for darker dresses.

Not very conducive to honeymoon sexiness but does the trick for me Grin

thank you bunny, they may not be very sexy for honeymoon but im sure there would be no action at all if im in pain from chubb rub :) do you think they would work the same under shorts etc, im just worried about the heat making it worse?? :(

I second the Lanacane - it is a godsend in a hot, humid climate. It's amazing the difference it makes. It's not easy to find though, so when you find it buy several tubes!

Was coming on to say Lanacane. Though, if you sweat a lot, which you will in florida, I would buy a few tubes and keep reapplying.

Like the idea of cycling shorts too though.

I also agree Lanacane - I am huge of thigh and definitely recommend it.
When you get to the US you could stock up on Monistat Anti Chafing Gel which is the same thing but IIRC works out considerably less expensive. Any drugstore will have it.

Use a cross trainer if you can , it will help the wobbly thighs. Start at 5/ 10 minutes at low speed and build up time and level. Far less chaffing in May Smile

thank you all so much for your help, seems lanacane and cycling shorts r the way forward, i am also huge of thigh Blackden, lol but nothing a month on the cross trainer wouldn't help, is there anything i could do at home armagh to help tone, im trying to lose weight at the mo too, so any advice is helpful, thank you all so much :) xx

Lanacane has saved my life in the summer since I discovered it 3 years ago!

I'm liking the primark leggings idea, much cheaper than control shorts.

I second the suggestion of rubbing a deodorant stick in sweaty areas, followed by a light dusting of talc. Works like a charm! If you do end up with chafing or a heat rash, then a little Sudocrem goes a long way for reliefSmile

When heavily pregnant and waddling last summer, I swore by Evans Comfort Shorts (they come in black, nude and white) - very comfy and lightweight. On the few very hot days when I could hardly bear to wear anything, I used BodyGlide anti-chafe balm which is designed for marathon runners. I found it much more effective and long-lasting than Lanacane. I got it from the London Marathon Store but it can be found online too www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000WDW28S

Deodorant is your friend. Apply to inner thigh and it works a treat, try it out. I picked this tip up from mumsnet last summer.

A combo of something applied to inner thighs with shorts works best for me. Just shorts on their own in heat can cause chafing still, so a combo works best.

sorry, popped off to feed dd. universal wrap- you can get the kit at home but easier to go to a salon, they smother you in seaweed gunk mud, then squish you in tightly with stretchy bandages. it is a temporary measure, it's meant to suck out all your toxins i think. i found it effective.

Brave Soldier Friction zone chamois cream has worked. Desigbed for sports (running and cycling) so it doesn't rub or sweat off.

To tone up inner thighs. whilst watching TV; need a chair with wooden legs or a small coffee table, either leg on the outside of the wooden legs and squeeze as if forcing legs together, hold for a few seconds and repeat. Build up repetitions. No more chaffing!

willybreeder* That's all well and good but doesn't necessarily take away chafing. Athletes who have less than 10% body fat and thighs that don't touch can still get some chafing between their legs. I also know of a friend who is only 6 stone, legs barely touch and is very toned, who gets the same problem with chafing as me in the summer.

It's quite normal for thighs to touch willy, toning isn't necessarily going to help anything.
