Has anyone tried this?

I bought some and I can't get on with the stumpy rubbery brush. I always end up with claggy eyelashes.

What am I doing wrong? Confused

I bought it too and thought it was rubbish! I didn't bother to persevere.

It's dreadful, isn't it? Possibly the worst mascara I've ever used.

motherofvikings · 18/02/2013 20:16

Oh arse. I thought it was me being crap (which I'm ok with) Hmm
It was good in that it didn't smudge off round my eyes as the day went on. But my lashes Looked like they'd been dunked in paint.

Any alternatives - at the cheaper end of the scale? :)

The Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara (£10.99) is quite good - for what it's worth, it won the Style magazine 2009 Beauty Awards best mascara section.

A lot of people still swear by (not at!) their 2000 calorie, which is only £6.99. Never used it myself, though, so can't speak from experience.

Take it back to boots and explain that it's crap - u can be more diplomatic than me tho Grin. Used to work for them so u should get a refund ir exchange if no receipt. Try max factor masterpiece max or the new maybelline one.c

Really fanjo? Even tho I've chucked the receipt and used it?

I'd be very surprised but chuffed if they did! :)

Any of the Max factors are great - theyre all great at lengthening phenomenally without thickening too much (so you just like you have incredible eye lashes).

Try False Lash Effect or Masterpiece - both fantastic.

Yes mother. I've done it as a customer (can't remember which No7 mascara it was but I bought one ages ago and it was rubbish) and I've seen refunds given and exchanges given when I worked there. If it was a different brand you'd be on to plums but they're very keen to promote their own products and for customers to be satisfied. You'd be amazed at some of the stuff I saw being refunded or exchanged. Lots of people take the pi** !

One woman had bought some No7 cosmetics when they were on 3 for 2 then changed her mind and wanted a refund. Had her receipt and hadn't used them so seemed straightforward enough but the offer had finished when she was returning them. She stood and argued with a manager until she got a full refund for the 3 products even though she'd only paid for 2 !
