Eyeliner for Dummies

Can someone suggest best eyeliner for a numpty who is not good at theses things.
Have just about managed to master bottom lid with pencil, but top lid with pencil = disaster, it doesnt last, just seems to slide off. liquid liner is ok - ish but not always managing to get it even...

Maybelline gel liner, comes with a good brush too and not expensive

I'm utterly cack-handed with eyeliner - can't apply pencil to any sense at all. I've had the most success with a liquid eyeliner with a very fine, straight brush (like the first picture here). Don't get on with the tapered ones or those liquid liner pens.

I like gel liner too but can only get it on ok with a liquid liner brush (saved from an old liquid liner and cleaned)

Does the Maybelline one dry quickly? My problem is usually getting it on my... my... the bit between my eyelid and my eyebrow.
