Sock buns

Should a sock bun be high or low for best results? I did one last night and it looks great but I did the pony tail quite low down so my hair still looks a bit too straight at the top. Thinking I should have done a higher ponytail but there didn't seem to be enough hair in it to wrap round when I did it higher.

Any sock bun people out there?

I've done them in the past, but my hair was down to the bottom of my back.
I've done high ponytail ones with boob length hair, and they've been fine.

You could try 2 sock buns, slightly lower down if your hair's shorter... Sort of Princess leia style, but at the back, not over your ears.

id do dds at the back quire low but side on just behind her ear and its lovely and much easier for shorter hair

Cut the toe section off a sock.
Roll the remainder up so it looks like a ring doughnut.
Put your hair in a high ponytail using a band
Place sock doughnut over ponytail.
Pull towards ends of hair and tuck ends round sock doughnut, continue to roll hair round as you slide towards head.
You'll end up with a lovely neat bun.
