Yes they are. I've had mine for 18months, I really struggled with justifying spending the money at the time but so glad I did. I see other women walking about with older ones and they really do get better with age, especially the oak ones.

unfortunately I also once saw a student with all their textbooks in one and it looked wrecked and like it'd been kicked around the student union, but I was mostly just bitter that a student had a mulberry bag that they didn't even respect

Mine is red. It has never been polished or protected. I originally bought it as a nappy bag/everyday bag for when DS2 was born. I now use it a few times a week. It works very well as an overnight bag (you can extend the opening by adjusting buckles inside) and is usually my cabin bag for flights

I love mine. I've never had a problem with carrying it on my shoulder (I only mention it because it's a common Bays gripe). Not great when it's heavy, it has to be said, but that's my own experience - I prefer a shoulder strap.

It's a classic though...

I've had mine for about 15 years. It's in oak. I still absolutely love it, use it several times a week, it looks better all the time and I have to confess I don't really look after it at all...

I used to have a printed Oak Bayswater which was stolen. When I went to replace it they weren't making the printed bag anymore so I bought the normal Oak. I have to say that the two are very different in how they wear. My printed Oak looked brand new after 2 years and as quite rigid. The Oak I have now marks more easily, and is much more slouchy but I still love it. They're a classic. They are making the printed oak again now, one day I'll buy another.
And to the burglars who took my bag and loads of other things from our home while we slept - i actually hate you. Sorry rant over.......
