Chinos on a night out?

Have some black or navy chinos that I could wear with black or navy heels and a lovely sheer blouse with vest underneath - would this be ok for a night out in a city with friends? Possible meal and dancing.

I had purchased some tapered trousers that sit at the ankle but feel to worky.

Can't believe how ridiculously worked up over one night out I am getting Hmm

It sounds lovely for a night in the city, but not night clubby. It depends where you're dancing.

Maybe if you go dancing discard the sheer blouse and add accessories? Grin

The accessories are all I am happy with at the minute!

So a yes on the chinos so far. It's the what to wear at a club when your getting old!!

Honestly? Meal yes, heels and sheer makes the trousers dressy enough. In a pub/bar/restaurant that has music later and people dance...then yes. Meal and then onto a club....unless its studentville, I think you'll feel out of place.

Do you have any dark denim jeans to wear instead? Can you ask the other girlies what they think?

Monty27 · 14/02/2013 22:15

What accessories have you got?

ceeveebee · 14/02/2013 22:16

Actually I think they'd be ok if rolled up at ankles, worn with heels and a slinky/clingy top.

coolkat · 14/02/2013 22:19

Wanted to avoid jeans - friends wearing leggings - I bought a tunic but felt frumpy in that as too loose, am better in more fitted things.

May just do meal and drinks then and ditch the club!

Thanks for responses Smile

Re accessories if black chinos emerald sheer blouse, fits lovely with silver 3tier chain ( don't know how else to describe!) could look like 3 necklaces IYSWIM and a silver chunky bangle

If navy chinos a cream sheer blouse that has heavy beading on the collar so just the silver cuff.

Both silver earrings.

Oh goodness, didn't mean to put you off.....hope I didn't.

This girl looks cool, wouldn't look out of place in da club!

Just go, have fun!

ceeveebee · 14/02/2013 22:28

That's exactly the type of look I was trying to describe
I wouldn't personally wear a blouse with chinos. I think you need a fitted top

Monty27 · 14/02/2013 22:31

See I was wondering about the 'blouse' especially with it's own beading etc could be too much with accessories and overdressed for a club Grin

If you have a good figure, discard the blouse and add the accessories

(I'm old but have older teen dd and we mimic each other at times Shock)

Thanks ladies. Will have another trying on session in the morning.

Sounds absolutely perfect to me, much more modern than jeans IMO! I have some cuffed chinos with army pockets iyswim that I have worn to a club with a dark slouchy vest, big but delicate heels and layered necklaces and felt v good. First outfit sounds nicer than second Smile

Monty27 · 14/02/2013 22:58

LeChat that outfit is gorgeous :)

cathyandclaire · 14/02/2013 23:02

Sounds very good to me.... In fact I want your emerald sheer blouse,is it new? Where's it from?

coolkat · 15/02/2013 06:59

Hi cathy I was at an outlet saw this one m.johnlewis.com/mt/www.johnlewis.com?un_jtt_v_home=1
But couldn't afford it so searching the sale rack and found one the same shape but a little darker in colour for £15. Brand is first avenue so never heard of but not to worried about that!
