Maxi dress with boots?

I have bought this dress in the Monsoon sale and was hoping to wear it to go out for a Valentine's meal with DH. I planned on wearing gold strappy sandals with it.

However it is now snowing and freezing cold and I have realised that if I wear that I am probably risking hypothermia.

Do you think that the dress would look OK with a black cropped cardi over it and black boots a bit like this underneath? The dress is long on me so you can't see much of the boots.

That will look fantastic. Love that dress!

Thank you. I love the dress and it was a bargain too (reduced from £89 to £21) and I really want to wear it, but don't want to freeze!

Was all set to say 'no' but you can definitely get away with boots with that dress. It's lovely. Envious of your bargain AND night out.

Think I would prefer it with the boots anyway, have a lovely night, you will look beautiful.

What a lovely dress!

Why is it whenever I go into Monsoon I can't find anything nice? I have over £30 in vouchers and can't spend them.

Yes, yes. Have a lovely night! :)
