Shaved on one side hairstyle

Ok I'm thinking that maybe I want to do this before I get too old and mutton for trendy hairstyles like this.

I have long shoulder length layered blonde hair, which side do you decide to do it on for a start and has anyone had this done and regretted it ?

I had an undercut back in the day so I kind of know what I'm letting myself in for in terms of growing it out and maintenance.

Does anyone have any advice for success of words of warning !!!
Cheers

I love it. Go for it. I love people who have the confidence to change their hair a lot. Crazy colours, white blonde, shaved bits, feather extensions, pixie crops...etc....

In your Elle link, Kate Lanphear is at the top, she is so cool, my hair idol. Am changing jobs at the mo, when I get settled again, if appropriate, I may go for this do finally. My hair is currently long and mid blonde/ombré, so it will be a bit radical to suddenly be cropped and white!

prettywhite go for it. If its shaved one side, surely you can wear your hair in a center parting and cover a little if the occasion arises. I think good idea to go to a stylist who already has it.

dexter73 · 12/02/2013 11:50

She has it on the left side btw to show off her array of earrings. I am getting quite good at shaving it every couple of weeks! Maybe I should go into business!

prettywhiteguitar · 12/02/2013 12:01

Bought Dp a beard trimmer for Christmas I knew it was a good idea

Murder of goths I really like you with it, you should get it done again it really suits you

Tilda is always a style crush of mine, she does classy androgynous

I'm thinking of going back to it. Think I'll do it one sided this time, last time it was both sides because of the dreads. Makes it easier to cover if I have to look respectable Grin

Think I might leave my eyebrows on this time though...

prettywhiteguitar · 12/02/2013 12:07

Plus I'm only 34 any older and I won't be able to pull it off

prettywhiteguitar · 12/02/2013 12:08

Grin

I used to go to work and forget to draw my eyebrows back on! My boss made me keep eyeliner in the office so I could draw them on.

VerySmallSqueak · 12/02/2013 16:05

pretty I think you should go for it.

There is a lot to be said for a two-sider that you can cover quite easily,so you ought to consider that - also when you are growing out it can be covered easily.

BelindaCarlisle · 14/02/2013 14:18

Warning. I've just seen a gaggle of teenagers with it. And not the type you'd like to emulate.

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 14/02/2013 15:56

Ooh, I say go for it. I have had the same hairstyle since I was a teenager (ie 25 years) and really regret never doing anything like that when I was young enough to get away with it. And I regret never having blonde or green hair (went straight from uni to job so always had boring very dark brown hair.)

MurderOfGoths · 14/02/2013 16:02

"And not the type you'd like to emulate"

Hmm

I wonder if that means I was "the type" when I had that hairstyle then...

Pootles2010 · 14/02/2013 16:14

Go for it. Its not my thing at all but looks like it is yours! And assuming you're the one in photos on your profile (at bottom?) looks like you've got amazing bone structure that will help loads I imagine.

BelindaCarlisle · 14/02/2013 17:15

lol i had it last time around Tears for Fears style

prettywhiteguitar · 14/02/2013 22:02

Thanks pootles it is me, I am going to go for it I called the hairdresser and she was really helpful, said she would look at my hair and see what she thinks, she's the same age so I think she gets it. Reliving our youth...

Ooh quite excited ! I will post up photos after I have it done so you can all have a look ;)

MurderofGoths Your hair in those links is fab, it really suits you.

Reading this really makes me want to do it myself! I've just dyed mine pink so would love it to look something like this- Another Ellie pic

prettywhiteguitar · 15/02/2013 08:59

Two reasons not to - Kerry Katona. Mel B.

LulaPalooza · 15/02/2013 13:42

Go for it, prettywhiteguitar

You definitely have the looks and bone structure to pull it off and life is too damn short.

I love experimenting with my hair and have had all sorts of styles and colours and cuts but am now getting to the age where I can't get away with anything too radical until I am really old!

prettywhiteguitar · 15/02/2013 14:36

God I really dislike Kerry katona
