New hairdo? Will it be frumpy?

I have long hair, down to my bra strap. I need to wash it every 2nd day. Most days I just wash, quickly dry. Will style, sometimes curl maybe once a week.
Have a young baby so short in time.
Was thinking of this....
hair
If link doesn't work, it's Fearne Cotton with bob to collarbone. She sometimes has straight, sometimes has waves.
Will this look frumpy? Is it the mum cut friends are telling me to avoid?

I did this recently, had hair down to my bra strap ( very dark though, so unlike Fearne) and had it first cut to my shoulders and then next cut was just above ... feels like it has a 'style' now and i can pin bits back still or curl, or straighten. I too was worried i'd look mumsy, but i've had loads of compliments - and it can always be grown back !

Hmm, well, TBH it depends on the quality of the cut above all else. A badly cut bob can be a horrid thing and of it's self that cut certainly has the potential to be frumpy. otoh it also has the potential to be fab. It;s a tricky thing.

Adding long layers and a fringe to bra strap length hair would be safer if your hairdresser isn't top notch. On a bad day you can just wash the fringe and pop your hair up in a messy bun (dead easy with layers) and you're sorted.

I don't think it looks frumpy. And you could always 'distress' it a bit after drying it by just mussing it about with your fingers so it didn't look too 'done'. I think it's a classic style. In the wrong hands you can end up with something curled under and tapering in the wrong directions etc but any decent hairdresser should be able to do you a classic bob. Good luck on your mission.
