Premium Jeans - perfect fit?!

So went to the denim bit in Selfridges today, was helped out by a denim specialist, who told me that fabric stress folds at my thighs were the sign of good fitting jeans - are they? I thought it meant they were too tight. But then I was told by her that they'd stretch anyway so they'd be fine. I thought the premium denim was supposed to hold it's shape....my M&S Jeggings have stress lines on the thigh (my thighs are my problem area) and they don't budge even after extensive wear - so I don't wear them.

So am I being a bit precious, is a bit of thigh pucker the sign of a good fitting pair of jeans?
Tbh my idea of jean shopping joy is being left alone to get on with it, not being railroaded by someone on a sales target.

Love selfridges did not love their denim service, complete with roped changing room!

Hmm, can't say I've heard that before.

I have some 7FAM and some Goldsign jeans and they both stretch. I have never heard of the thigh pucker thing either. Have you tried Levis curve? I am pear shaped and they fit me the best.

Dexter do you mean you've never experienced thigh pucker - or never heard it's the sign of a well fitting jean? I've lost weight, none of my old jeans fit so I ended up buying a transitional pair of skinnies from Primark for £7, they still thigh pucker but I'll take a risk that they might stretch. I can't pay over £200 for a pair of jeans and keep my fingers crossed that they'll stretch to fit!

Never heard its a sign of a well fitting pair of jeans! I have certainly experienced it!

Hmm never heard that... It's possible that if you carry more weight in your thighs than your stomach/hips that the best fitting jeans overall would be ones that do crease there. But if it was me I would keep going until you find a brand that suits your body shape better. Also, you can get big discounts on premium denim eg on outnet, the sale in Donna Ida/ trilogy etc so if you don't want to commit £200 you could try these places after doing lots of trying on to find the perfect brand, shape and size for you.

Also, I love jeans and have lots of j brand, and some 7fam and they all give and stretch a bit.
