Does this haircut even exist?

I really need to find a haircut that is flattering to a round face, suits very straight hair, a little bit unusual, and easy to maintain without styling (but that can be styled). It doesn't exist does it? :(

I miss having time to sit down with rollers and do a nice retro hairdo, but a 10mo doesn't make that easy. I'd like to be able to go out without looking frumpy.

As for the styling, you wouldn't need to do much to it if the cut is good as your hair is already straight. I would just invest on a Parlux; it will take you 5 minutes to make it look like that!
Not sure about the unusual bit though...

Agree with well cut bob. It needs to be a good one so as not to make your face look wide. Bobs are great for the short-of-time, IMO.

Mine is v angled, but I think that works best because my face is v angular (kind of a pointy heart shape. Attractive or what?)

I have VERY straight hair and had mine cut into a bob, it works well because you can colour it, clip bits back, put waves in it if you have more time, etc and when you don't it's still in a 'style' HTH

Not sure that a well cut bob ticks the 'a little bit unusual' box for the OP... I' m looking for something similar myself. I have a bob which has grown out - I didn't like it. My mum said 'ooh, you finally look sensible'. That put me right off Grin. But I haven't found the cut I'm looking for either...

lol That's my problem bec! A bob, flattering and lovely as it may be, is a bit sensible. Which isn't a slight on it, just not very me!

I can't really afford the upkeep with blues etc. I did have green hair until a few weeks ago, and it faded so damn quick.

If you have very straight hair, what about something with a dramatic, diagonal or very short fringe?

You could still put your hair up during the day but also style it when required.

SIL had hair like hakney linked to for a while and it was fab. 'fraid it's probably had it's day now really.

I used to have hair like that Hackney, unfortunately it's not so flattering on me now I've gained weight. :( Used to look fantastic though!

I kind of want to go a bit longer, shoulder length really.

TBH I still think an extreme graduated bob (cut into the nape at the back and just above the collar bone at the front) with a short, straight fringe would be great.

a bit like this but down to where her bracelet is at the front. Colour wise, have you looked into proper henna and indigo? It's not just aging-hippy-red.

I am not so sure about a short fringe. I have a round face (even at my slimmest, it's round) and find a short fringe, especially a short, full fringe, makes it look much rounder. What about a longish fringe that is chipped into? And a short/medium choppy bob with lots of layers that you could randomly flick out in places (I used to use my straighteners to do little flicks. If your hair is fast growing, how about half a head of highlights which are not started right at the crown but further down? I think a perm would highlight any roundness too unless it was a wave rather than a curl. I find that I need to keep the shortest lengths of any cut below chin level otherwise if my hair stops at my jaw, it just seems to accentuate the roundness.

I went with an asymmetric bob. It's shoulder length on one side at the longest bit, and just above chin level on the other.

I have a deep-ish side parting to accentuate it. Growing out a fringe (which this style actually works well for).

Can just wash and leave it to dry, but also benefits from drying with a brush when I get time.

What about a bob with dip dye? It really doesn't have to be expensive to maintain, it's very easy to do it yourself. You just take a section of hair, back comb it a bit (this avoids giving it a harsh line and more of an ombre look) then leave the dye on for a while. You can use any hair dye, I just use ordinary ash blonde in a box from Boots.

i like this, you could dry it roughly and put some wax in it to separate when dry, the fringe could be made really straight down, or off to the side, with a clip.
