Your body after babies

I had my third dc a year ago. With the other two I eventually went back to my pre-baby size. This has definitely not happened this time. I am finding it quite difficult to get my head around my new body. I live that I have more boobage than I did, but I have wobbly tummy, bigger arms, bigger thighs etc. None of my old clothes fit. I just don't know what suits me anymore. I just feel crap.

I don't overeat. Tbh I haven't had a chance to do much exercise, as with 3 dc time taken up, plus have a dh that doesn't get home till late.

Anyone got any wise words of wisdom? Because soon I might be reaching for the choc biscuits and that doesnt help at all!

Urggh same here. 3rd dc only a few months ago but I have terrible love handles and can't do my knee high boots up as calves are fatter! Yuk

I feel the same and it's starting to get me down. Even dh said I look like I've put a bit of weight on over xmas. I look bigger 9 months after birth than I did 4 months after! I think a lot of it for me is being on mat leave, drinking tea every hour with a biccie and not doing enough exercise. Am so tired though I can't face it.

I was the same after my 2nd (2's enough for me!). After my body has been burgled by babies, it's never been the same pre- kids. My youngest is now 3, it took about 2 years for me to loose the weight I put on after having my 2nd. I looked pregnant for a long time after having him! To be honest I didn't really go on any drastic diet as such, but I did do a lot of walking, pushing pram when weather was good and I joined a Zumba class, I got it for the wii too, did that at home a few nights a week, I think that helped a lot. It'll come off eventually, try not to get too worked up about it, try Zumba, it's good fun, & it does help!

Have a look at Zaggora (google) their hot shorts got me back into shape with no additional effort - just wore them when out and about under my jeans. I've just ordered the body blazer...

I know it is hard to summon the energy and find the time but exercise really is the key. You need to make it a habit, like brushing your teeth. If you aim to do at least 20 mins a day every day - and seriously, who can't find 20 minutes somewhere? Then you should pull it off maybe 5 x a week and that will make a massive difference. It will also create the habit which will eventually mean you feel odd if you don't do a bit of exercise in a day.

It is also good for your mind, taking a bit of time just for you (which the rest of the family will benefit from too). Keep in mind that unless you are actually ill, no matter how much you don't feel like doing it, you will always, always feel better afterwards.

Couch to 5k beginners running or 30 day shred would be top practical choices. I was bigger a year after having my 3 dc's than immediately after giving birth - had a lovely time cuddling baby, feeding and eating cake Grin, but started exercising regularly after that. Now I actually have a better body than pre-DC's.

I've got 3 dcs, youngest is almost 2 and although i went straight back to a size 10 within weeks of giving birth each time (bf), under my clothes is a horror story Blush. Stretchmarks, cellulite, flab, c-section scar etc. We've got a holiday booked in August and i want to be able to feel confident in a swimsuit. Trying to eat healthly (not easy in this cold weather!), do gentle toning exercises (can't do strenuous, i have Fibromyalgia) and find time to pamper myself more. It's not always easy though is it? Joys of motherhood eh?! x

I am the same but have two DC's, after my eldest I snapped back into shape within a month, this time round I am two sizes bigger than I was pre preg and am the same size as I was when I came home from hospital- almost a year to the day.

My hips are a lot wider and I think hope I'm one of the unlucky ones who stores fat for BFing. Maybe when we wean I will get back to my slender self!
