or maybe even smart desert boots or chelsea boots? even better if they are in the sales! COS have some nice black ones but they look like they would be murder to break in.

Clarks? They have really nice Originals Desert boots and there are some in the sale, there's also some black brogues in the new shoes bit on the website.
