Face wash/scrub

I would love to hear your recommendations for face wash/scrub as I need to buy some. My only requirement is that it's not too expensive and I rather like those that are grainy to remove blackheads. Thank you

Not sure if this is too expensive but I always use Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser. I give my skin a good scrub with the muslin cloth which seems to do the trick and it's great for getting rid of eye make up.

this stuff

It's wonderfully grainy. Feels like sandpaper on your face. Bliss Grin

Leaves my skin beautifully smooth and soft too.

I use sanctuary face wash, smells lovely and sorted my skin right out

Another vote for sanctuary one-lovely and grainy!

I highly recommend either this straightforward exfoliator or a combination of this applied using this brush

Body shop seaweed one. Fab!

Boots number 7 do a really gritty sandpaper like one, it's fab!

Not sandpapery but Nutrogena Pink Grapefruit scrub is utterly lovely. It's as effective as the stinky blue teenage ones but smells nicer. I use it as a peel too as it has quite a lot of salycilic acid in it, leave it on while I shower and it leaves my skin red and raw afterwards but within a few hours I am reborn

I like the St Ives one although I think mine is a sensitive version. Still nice and grainy though.

Havingkittens · 30/01/2013 13:17

Careful with the really grainy ones. The sharpness of the grains can actually cause tiny tears and trauma to the skin which can agitate any spots further. It's best to use something that gently peels the skin rather than sands it off. Or at least one that has really small circular grains.

I adore the body shop tea tree face wash its the only thing that has totally corrected the oil balance of my skin and let my pregnancy glow shine through havent had a new spot or blackhead since the day I started using it and it erased all old ones I had prior to using it, it really is a miracle in a bottle - for my skin anyway remember everyones skin reacts different - as for scrubs I like the st ives apricot scrub have used that since I first started using skin care products at age 13 (9 years ago then!)!
