I am a support worker and on saturday I have to attend a party with the people I care for. I will need to wear flat shoes and dress smart. Everyone else will be dressy so I don't want to feel like the ugly duckling.
I really don't know what to wear and I am the least girly/dressy person in world. I live in jeans and T shirt and just have no clue.
I am a size 18/20 or a 16 on a really really good day. I am also quite pale so bright colours make me look ill.
Anyone have any ideas please?

Oh, that should be doable. What are you wanting to spend and what colours do you like?

Under £150 if possible. I love red and deep purple. My partner says i look good in dark blue. I tend to live in mens clothes and mostly black so own very few colours. I do love handbags and shoes so tend to go wild there. I also love grey and have a really smart pair of grey trousers so maybe I could wear this.
I really don't have a clue. I feel really self conscious if i get dressed like a girl and pretty much feel like a fraud

Then FGS don't buy a dress or any girly shit!

I need to do dinner but I'll have a proper look later.

Glad you like it!

I know there are places that make mens clothing for women IYSWIM, you probably won't have time before this party but might it be worth looking into getting a fabulous, dressy non-worky (ladies) mens suit, or having a suit altered to fit?

How about this?

There's some really nice dressy blouses in DPs at the mo maybe one of them with black jeggings and some funky ballet shoes (topshop have some really nice lasercut ones in at the mo)
