Yellow face powder

I have recently discovered that you can get face powders in shades of yellow to tone down redness and warm up your complexion. There aren't many around - I have found benefit bluff dust but it seems it is discontinued. Others I have seen are Clinique redness solutions, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox and E.L.F. Has anyone tried any of these or know of any others? I'm quite pale and am looking for one that won't just show up bright yellow on my skin :)

Also, if they are simply crap, I would love to know.

I'm interested in this and want to know too.

I used to have a green that I used to tone down something - dark shadows or redness perhaps?! It did seem to work under usual foundation.

It was from Shu Uemura, take a look on their website.

My Bare Escentials concealer has a slight yellow tint for this reason. I apply it sparingly around my nose and on the occasional breakout. The concealer goes on before my foundation, so it isn't noticeable since it gets covered up. I think it works pretty well.

I think I read that Bourjois are bringing out a BB yellow based cream. I will have a try with that. I found the Benefit powder sent me a funny shade.

I second Bare Minerals, some of them are yellow based.

I have been seeing US blogs referring to Ben Nye Banana Powder. Here on makeup mania

kiwigirl42 · 28/01/2013 17:39

I use the PeepO correcting powder from Lily Lolo and really rate it. Great for dark under eye circles etc

Emo76 · 28/01/2013 19:49

I have the clinique one- not convinced it makes any difference !

Boots no 7 colour correcting primer (green!) isn't bad

QuinnFabray · 28/01/2013 20:00

Yes, I was going to say Ben Nye. Have heard UK youtube makeup artists singing it's praises. You can buy it online.

Models prefer on qvc. Or it is now called ybf by Stacey due to legal reasons. It has great reviews. I would link but I can't sorry. It is neutralising something.

Thanks all, I'm off to look these up.

i look terrible with pink toned foundation and have discovered lily lolo mineral foundation, i think the shade i use is butterscotch, its very yellow but i love the tone it leaves my skin, removes all the redness, and leaves my skin looking youthful and calm

fooolofbeans · 28/01/2013 20:17
