Jewellery help needed

I'm in the very lucky position of having £500 to spend on a piece of jewellery. I have no idea where to start though. I never wear gold, only silver, white gold or platinum (only my wedding and engagement rings!) and I'd like something contemporary but that I can keep and wear for years. I think I've ruled out earrings because of my tendency to lose them. Can anyone suggest some good websites to start looking or ideas for styles?

Pinterest or Flickr? Then pop down to your local goldsmith/jeweller (real one not branch of a chain) and see if they can make you something that will be truly individual??

If you want something really unique, have a look on Etsy - some stunning pieces on there.
You can check feedback too which is useful, and many of the sellers will customise things for you...
