Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair - questions

So I bit the bullet and bought some of this supposed wonder serum that I gave read so much about and being 41 and looking a little haggared of late thought I'd buy some at £43, yes £43 - the most expensive face thing I have every purchased, well besides some Chanel make up for my wedding 14 years ago, so not bad going!

However, it seems to have burnt a layer off my face in parts, like my cheekbones, I have a very "Aunt Sally" look about me, but the other parts of my face are really smooth and quick lovely, if I do say so myself.

Perhaps I used too much, each night and need to use less, less often? Anyone any expereinces with this product?

I've used EL night repair on and off over the years. I've never had a problem with it and I have very sensitive (rosacea) skin. I've always found it to be very gentle and harmless. Not sure what good it was actually doing me though... but I love the smell of it. I did use it sparingly, a really thin layer each night, and around the eyes.

This so called 'wonder cream' did nothing for me. Though Newby Hands - Harpers Beauty journo highly rates it.
