What to wear? V smart? Smartish, I'm not wearing jeans but don't want to wear a suit. What so you recommend?

Obviously depends on what the job is.

In all seriousness I would wear a suit as they are the ones who control if you go forward so you need to make the next impression on them.

Next impression = best impression

It's an interview. They decide if you are suited to their client. Wear whatever you would wear if you were granted a full interview with the employer......which usually means a suit
It is pretty much impossible to give the wrong impression by being too smart. Being too casual however, is very easy and very off putting.
