Has anyone seen this in the flesh? In particular, how soft is the leather and are the steps really long enough to work as a shoulder bag over a Coat please?

Have you looked at their website? There is a pic of the bag on a model though can't tell how sof the leather is.

Straps not steps

Yes I've looked at the website, but I can't tell how soft the leather is and how long the straps are.

I don't have the Millie but I have a few of their other bags and have been very impressed with the quality of the leather, it's lovely and soft.

Order from J Lewis for free delivery etc- or use click and collect if you have a nearby Waitrose.

finlaysmum12 · 20/01/2013 21:13

Sorry to butt in off topic- but have I understood that right-you can collect orders from a waitrose for JL ?? :):):)

Missbopeep · 20/01/2013 22:45

order from J Lewis ONLINE by 7pm and it will be delivered free to your nearest waitrose store after 2pm ( it's sometimes before then) the next day. so 7pm Monday and collect post 2pm Tuesday. Not silly items like beds- but anything you and they can carry! And there is a free returns label if you can't get to a J Lewis store to take it back. This system has been in place for a few months :)

I have it! It's a lovely bag, the leather isn't as soft as a slouchy bag but is softer than the Pippa. The straps are long enough to go on my shoulder when I have several layers of clothes and my padded coat on. I'm very impressed with the quality of the bag and how well it is wearing (had it a few months now).

John Lewis click and collect has been available from my local waitrose for at least 18 months now. It's a fantastic service, I've ordered everything from Christmas cards to a mop using it!

Yep, that's how it works. Ordered Xmas gifts from JL and then collected from Waitrose. Sweet.

Benson- is the gold catch on the bag a bit " blingy"? I sold my small Pippa on Ebay because I got tired of all the gold fittings.
I am looking for a new bag and torn between that Modalu one and some new ones out by Radley. I really should have an across the body because I've got one shoulder that has dropped due to carrying bags over the years.
Which colour did you get in the Modalu? Is the tan a nice colour? It looks quite orangy online.

happyjustobeme · 21/01/2013 12:39

Thanks for the feedback benson and for the JL suggestion. I am goings order it and see. Fingers crossed.

Missbopeep - mine is in maroon, not sure they are still doing the Millie in that colour at the moment. I don't find the catch too much and I'm really not a bling sort of person, I wouldn't describe it as dull but its quite a pale gold and not too bright if that makes sense. I've got quite a few Radley bag and I think the quality on this is better and it's a bit different (haven't seen anyone with another yet).
happy - hope you love it when you get it, fingers are crossed for you!
