Ok so I have a big night out soon & I'm thinking false eyelashes..... I'm kind of wanting the Adele look and wanting to avoid the drag queen look! I have dabbled/ fiddled with falsies before, but just couldn't get them right and they felt 'itchy' on? Also do I wear mascara with them and eyeliner before or after? Yes I need help! Oh & I wear contacts too, don't know if it makes any difference at all but maybe my eyes can be sensitive?

I don't wear contacts so can't help you there, sorry.

I use 'Eyelure' eyelashes.

Do your make up as normal (eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara), and then put the eyelashes on. I generally don't put mascara on the false lashes as they can go a bit gunky and clumpy!

The glue should dry clear so don't worry if you muck it up a bit.

They can take a bit of getting used to. They generally should just feel a bit heavy.

Were you putting them on too close to the inside corner? Make sure you trim them to the right length. (as in width across your eyes)

Ditto everything polly said! I wear lenses and don't have any issues when I wear lashes. I would recommend Ardell Demi styles in 101 or 'Wispies'. They are made from hair and a very lightweight, flexible and a little shorter in length so good for beginners. I use tweezers to apply as I find my fingers get in the way or Bourjois do this ingenious tool for easy application

I really rate MAC lashes, you can reuse them and as you do the glue, you can control how much you use. They don't irritate my eyes but you might want to practise a bit. Enjoy Smile

Yes MAC 33 lashes are great for beginners too as they have an invisible band. here. They are expensive but lovely quality, perhaps worth trying once you're more confident?

Actually if you go to a Mac counter and buy a pair and the Duo glue they will show you how to put them on there and then. Duo is worth shelling out on if you do start wearing regularly, better than the fiddly little tubes that come in the lash packet IMO.

Ooo thanks ladies, think I'll go on an eyelash hunt & get some practice in before the big night ha ha!!!

Agree with Moomin re the glue.
I use the Revlon brush on - it is far easier than the little tubes.

I prefer the black as it blends well with make up but they do the clear too.

Am a bit funny about using human hair lashes - just don't like the thought - and the Revlon lashes are synthetic - means they hold curl better too, especially if you are anywhere hot/damp like a club
