help! sizing on mary portas?

About to buy online but don't wanna be disappointed. Do they come up big? Small? Spot on? Ta!

I bought a Mary Portas biker jacket recently online and the sizing was spot on for me (having checked my measurement against the size guide).

Sizing used to be all over the shop so I stopped buying. If you look on the HoF website and the customer reviews they often help. Her no brainer dress is HUGE

I ordered 5 items in the sale - all of which I returned as they were HUGE!!! I'm on the bigger side of a 12 but honestly could have worn a 10 or maybe an 8. This was dresses and a jumper - sorry not sure what they were called. None were that fitted, but just unwearable as so massive.

I haven't ordered anything since last year, but I found that the fitted dresses/skirts were definitely on the small side, and the knitwear was enormous. Check the reviews - they're quite honest.

I ordered the two dresses with massive flower prints. They were HUGE. Size down 2 sizes I'd say. The size 6 fitted nicely. I am an 8/10.

The loose, drapey stuff is big, but her first collection had a lot of bodycon dresses that were supposed to pull in any wobbly bits, but actually just encased it in circulation-threateningly tight ponte jersey. And I suspect MP had designed it using proper designer sizings, rather than high street vanity sizes [gazes forlornly at 'size 12' thighs]. There may have been a rethink since...

I bought a Size 14 'Bodycon' dress online (the ones with the pully in bit inside), expecting to have to slim into it, as I'm a small 16. I do, so I suspect those types are true to size. It's a lovely dress though, so would recommend.

I have 3 of the close fitting dresses (siren, ponte and another one I can't remember) and I think they're pretty true to size

I'm a tall size 10-12. Wear waist 28 inch Top Shop jeans. But a medium / 12 in Zara. Her clothes are mahoooosive on me.

I have a couple of her fitted dresses - the siren ones and they are true to size. I'm a 12/14, usually 14 on top due to norks.

Moral of story seems to be they fit different people differently!

thanks everyone - sorry got completely distracted and forgot all about this. In the meantime I've decided to save my money til I've lost my winter chub :(
