OK I know they're a staple of the 'yummy mummy' wardrobe [hears collective gasp at invoking the yummy mummy cliche]

But I like them. I really do.

So if you have one you adore or you covet please let me know. I wore a burgundy james lakeland one today and it was cosy and I think chic [deluded]. And have ordered ahem a children's grey one from alexandalexa as I am small and you know doing this 5:2 diet so surely it will fit.

Please show me some links - I'm meant to be having radical haircut tomorrow but suspect I'm going to be snowed in and will need entertaining.

Thank you!

I've got the same Michael Kors one as Wendy (of lookbook fame), and I really love it, even though it is not my colours. I like it with a Black ribbed merino polo neck and my J Brand jodhpurs, or over a grey marl sweatshirt for a more casual look.

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/01/2013 21:25

Oh yes Amber - I remember you and Blue on the quest for that - do you wear it much?

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 17/01/2013 21:55

I don't wear it as often as I should due to the clemency of the British climate. However, every time I do wear it, I love it and swear I'll wear it more!

My ultimate goal is a Toscana one from Joseph!

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/01/2013 21:56

You and me both

Ooooooh, I really want one but didn't know where to look. Will check those out online during the 2am feed (bleurgh). Any others I should look at?

kayb0 · 17/01/2013 22:04

I love, love, LOVE them! I've got one and it's lovely, it's so versatile and instantly makes me feel glam!

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/01/2013 22:06

Which one kayb0?

I have this:
www1.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/theory-vest-evlyn-sl-athos-fur?ID=636291&PseudoCat=seo-lm_results&intnl=true&intnl=true
It is the only thing keeping me warm right now!
I'm wearing it with black Theory leggings, a petrol Theory roll neck sweater (on a bit of a Theory trip right now) and black La Canadienne wedge leather boots.

JumpHerWho · 17/01/2013 22:36

TK Maxx had loads of fur including lots of filets, worth a look.

blue2711 · 17/01/2013 23:21

I love my Michael Kors one too. Feel very glam in it. Like it with grey APC jumper and wine Jamie skinnies lately. Sometimes belt it. Wear it over jumper dresses too. I also like it as it also seems to be one of the few items that stops me from wearing the ever present scarf...

blue2711 · 17/01/2013 23:25

And yes yes to Joseph one please.

Oh and I've just remembered, looks really good with navy and white Breton sweatshirt / long sleeved t shirt underneath. Or is that just 'yummy mummy' ridiculous? Oh what do I care, I probably am. I do at least draw the line at leopard print and fur gilet though.

dexter73 · 18/01/2013 07:20

I have a lovely one from Brora several years back. It is lovely but was £££ even half price! Might get it out today with all the snow!

MrsCampbellBlack · 18/01/2013 07:32

Oh the brora ones are always lovely - lucky you Dexter.

Sounds great with breton Blue!

Cardamom - that's gorgeous.

I really like the ones that have knitted backs as they seem a little less bulky.

WIT had some special photos taken a few years back wearing a Breton and fur. Looked beautiful.

I have just bought a grey Mango one in the sale. It's a lovely shade and good quality for the money. I prefer shaggy "fur" though. I need the Joseph one too.

cardamomginger · 18/01/2013 10:07

Thanks MrsCB Grin. I so nearly didn't buy it, but am very glad that I did!
What are the chances of you getting your hair cut looking like?

Willowisp · 18/01/2013 17:57

cardmomginger that's truly, truly vile.

MrsCampbellBlack · 18/01/2013 18:05

Haircut postponed till next friday - we're rural so snowed in. Which is a novelty today but will be tedious by monday.

I have a Celtic Sheepskin one with a buckle at the bottom - really nice. And a shearling Boden one from several years ago which is disappointingly boxy in cut - I don't wear it much.

And a shaggy Mongolian one purchased by several of the Wise and Avid crew a couple of years ago. They sent theirs back, which perhaps tells you all you need to know. I don't regret mine though - nothing beats it for snuggliness when working in my freezing cold office at home.

MrsCampbellBlack · 18/01/2013 18:23

Is that the millerostock one Carole? I tried that boden one but returned as the shape was wrong on me.

OP posts:
CaroleService · 19/01/2013 20:22

It just says 'ASOS', Mrs C-B. Eshermummy had it I think.

I should have returned the Boden one too.

CHOOGIRL · 19/01/2013 20:38

I have bought (and returned) the Joseph Toscana about four times. It just doesn't look right on me (have boobs).

I love my Karen Millen limited edition and Massimo Dutti ones.

cahu · 19/01/2013 20:44

I have this but got it from here much reduced...

CointreauVersial · 19/01/2013 23:15

monkeys - I just bought the Mango one too. Bargainaceous, furry but not shaggy, though. Just hope I like it when it arrives.

I have a lovely brown furry gilet from the charity shop, but wanted a grey one, as I wear it more often than brown.

monkeysmama · 21/01/2013 09:35

What do you think of it, Cointreau? I really like mine and think it is decent quality for the price. I have a cream shearling style one from the Oasis sale too which is really cosy.

CointreauVersial · 21/01/2013 13:00

Hasn't arrived yet, monkeysmama.

I'm sure its arrival will herald the start of a heatwave!

Price was good, though. I saw it on a blog and thought "I'm having that."
