Acne boots - Pistol vs. Star

I've been contemplating buying a pair of Pistol boots for ages but for some reason, never seem to commit. I think it's because I can't figure out what colour I want, but I often wonder if deep down, it's actually more than that.

Today on the Overground, I was sat opposite a wonderful dressed lady (and I call her that because she was in her mid-40s. Her outfit's colour palette was similar to what I usually wear, navy, grey and a dash of cream and I loved how well her boots set it off, was wearing chestnut coloured Star boots
I think what I love so much about them is the detail, the scalloping in particular.

So, I just wanted to garner some opinions as I know quite a few of the ladies on here have Pistol boots. If you do, what colour do you have. And does anyone have a pair of Star boots? Which pair would you go for? Tbh, any thoughts will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I like those star boots too but prefer the dark brown to the chestnut.

I have pistols, black ones. I like them a lot, great boots, easy to wear. However I do love the Stat too, and have had many a stroke of them! If my pistols wore out tomorrow I would get the star.

They're beautiful! I prefer them to pistols but don't own either . I think topshop do a similar shape boot if you don't want to spend that much but I bet they don't look as good...

I like the Star, the pistols have become quite ubiquitous but they are still lovely and versatile. I don't have either though.

I have umm 2 pairs of pistols (black and tan) neither at full price though. They are so comfortable and work well in my life.

But if I see the stars in dark brown at a good price - I'd leap at them.

The other boots I have and love are the Rag & Bone newbury in dark brown - again bought at big discount via the outnet - have you looked at them?

Sadly the Topshop copies don't fit me well enough to be comfortable and I life is too short to have miserable and unhappy feet.

Cypress is really similar to a pair of Folk boots I used to have, plus they're almost £500, which really is crazy money territory!!

MrsCB The other day, I read about you buying a pair of Pistols at a discount and was rather jealous. I'm even more jealous to discover you got 2 pairs that way.

Just googled Rag & Bone Newbury and they're lovely, although me being me, love the gold ones on NaP.

I'm not really a fan of black shoes/boots for me, for reasons I don't quite know, and I had to wear brown shoes for school, so tend to steer clear, but I do like tan, and I love the beige Pistols. I guess the most sensible thing is to actually go to Dover Street market to try some everything on, something I'm not quite why I have't done yet given I work less than 10 minutes away.

I'm going to wade in at this point,as I usually do, and brag about the fact I paid £36 for my Pistols (possibly my best ever bargain).

Oh yes the colour of the Star one is lovely.

Pistols are good too, but aim for half price or less. Or like Amber, £36

I think the Star ones because the colour is so gorgeous.

Matches clearance sale - they were a display pair. I had to get one resoled and presto, new Pistols!
