What do you think of this jacket?

I'm trying to build a capsule wardrobe and have seen this jacket.

It's a great price but I'm not sure whether I'll be able to wear it for years. What do you think, is it a classic and worth it?

The velvet collar doesn't sit right with me, I'm afraid. It's a wee bit frumpy.

I like it and I do think you could wear it for years - it's pretty classic. I much prefer the tan/rust coloured one next to it though - that's gorgeous; more fitted, more feminine, has a bit more style to it, but still a versatile classic. The first one is versatile but a tad dull and shapeless in comparison.

Yes, I did wonder about that. It's moleskin and I wondered whether the detailing might look a bit naff.

I did wonder whether wearing with a white tshirt and indigo jeans might bring it all together as a weekend/smart look...
