Natural shampoo and conditioner

Hi all,

About a month ago I started using shampoo and conditioner that is SLS free, paraben free, and salt free. I'd been using Pantene for forever and my hair was so lank. Read something here that made me make the switch!
Anyway, my hair is so gross now, gets greasy within a day or so, my scalp is flaky and gets itchy a lot... when I itch it flakes.
Anyone have similar experiences? Will my hair get all lovely and soft and glossy? Should I persevere or just switch to something else?

Help!

i have done this too i started about 6 months ago - mine doesn't itch or flake anymore and it feels soft and looks shiny. I use shampoo form www.Purenuffstuff.co.uk and www.handmadenaturals.co.uk (i got this recommendation on here) if i ever use a shampoo with SLS it makes my scalp itchy again.

Thanks life! How long would you say it took your hair to improve its condition?

i'd say about a month, maybe less. People comment on how shiny my hair looks now. So, persevere and get the right shampoo and conditioner for you.

I tried for a year, just switched back to SLS stuff and glad I did! I have super tangly hair anyway but after using the SLS free stuff I always had a big dreadlock at the back however careful I was and however much conditioner I used. One good thing about SLS free for me was I only needed to wash my hair twice a week, it seems to need doing every other day again now.

Which products are you using? I found that Naked shampoo was terrible for my hair but now I am using a body shop one for dry hair and it is brilliant. It is largely trial and error. I have used loads of different products and some have worked and some haven't.

It's a brand called Roots. I'm not in the UK though, I don't think it's an international brand.
I suppose I'll finish the bottle and give another make a try, and then if that doesn't work go back to whatever is cheap at the supermarket !
