Zipper getting stuck

My DS's winter coat keeps getting it's stupid zipper stuck. It gets snagged on the inner lining part. Any suggestions on how to fix this? He has trouble with it at school.....

Stitch the lining to the outer or the wadding around that point so it cannot get near the teeth. Like a little bit of darning or quilting, almost.
