Denim shorts with tights...

I like the style of denim shorts with tights underneath.
But... am I too old to wear them?! I am nearly 30, petite size 8/10 and would wear them with flat chunky boots, black tights and a slouchy jumper.

What's the MN verdict?!!

I'm 26 and I do this - I have some high waisted dark denim shorts with turn-ups from Next, and I love them. I wear them for work with t-shirts/blouses tucked in and maybe a blazer, with opaques and shoe boots. Or like today, with flat boots and a big slouchy jumper, which covers the high waist. I am a size 12 and 6ft tall.

However, my current holy grail is some tweed shorts. If someone has a handy tip where to look for some decent ones, I would love it

what style of tweed/wool shorts? what length too?

I'm 44 , when I was 18-20 I used to wear the denim shorts/black tights combo.

Did it arise from "desperately seeking susan" ?

Well, I got too scared that I would look ridiculous and like I was trying to be a teenager agin, so I returned the denim shorts I bought!!

I do like the look, but I am probably just too old for it (although like you happy I will probably look back in 10 years time and wish I had just worn whatever I liked!)

Skirt is better Sulawei, IMO.

I wouldn't wear shorts & tights but I'm older (& bigger) than OP. One of my friends wears this & it does look a bit 'young' for her (she is similar age to me).

But there's a mum at school who is probably 28-30, slim & very 'funky' dressed & it really suits her.

After being told I look like a chavvy teenager - thanks doodle! - I was out shopping yesterday and saw a nice denim pair in the sale in Miss Selfridge. Tried them on, bought them. Wearing with woolly black tights today as I am not in work.

I am size 10 and older than the OP by some margin.
