Help! Heated roller nightmare

I don't have a clue what I'm doing...

After reading so many threads about them, I went and got some today. I have medium long layered thick, dry, naturally wavy hair.

Washed, and let mostly dry.

  1. Didn't work, hair was still damp when took out. Waitied to dry mre and tried again.
  1. Rollers placed vertically. Stupidly curly mess. Tried again.
  1. Rollers placed horizontally. Looks like my normal hair but shitter.

Any suggestions please, or have I just wasted my money?

First of all, never use them on same-day washed hair. Particularly if you have thick hair. It won't work. At all.

Use on day-old hair. Spray each section with hairspray before rolling. Ensure ends are neatly rolled.

Use big rollers on top of head for volume. Rolled backwards.

Use smaller ones on the sides, rolled sideways.

Leave on for as long as possible.

Thanks. :) And what will it look like Bunny? Curly wurly or wavy?

Does 'rolled backwards' mean horizontally, with the hair coming from the bottom?

Thank you. Thanks

I was thinking, maybe I should just do them halfway? I got a LOT of 'volume' - looked stupid.
