Secret summer wedding – dress help needed, please!

Long term lurker on S&B threads, but first time I'm asking for help for myself.

No one in the world apart from registry office staff know we're getting married soon. Somewhere hot while on holiday. Elderly family friends may be in attendance.

I had thought I wasn't bothered about something special to wear, but am now thinking perhaps I need a new frock.

Size 10-12, winter colours suit me best (but can do cream) and would prefer something lighter/bright. I?m a bit self conscious about my bingo wings, so would prefer a dress with loose-ish sleeves. Nothing too structured or formal. Nothing too short/high cut on the legs either. Nothing that shrieks ?wedding?. Fussy, me?!

I have spent hours online and have had no success finding anything that I need to pause too long to think about before rejecting, but am worried that if I don't get something special to wear I?ll be wishing I had on the day.

I'm not quite sure what I want but would appreciate all suggestions and help! Thank you!

How old are you? What kind of things do you usually wear?

I love that dress Teths. Don't think I'd get married in it though. but wear it - definitely.

FellatioNels0n · 14/01/2013 23:34

The ISSA zebra thingy one I mean.

FellatioNels0n · 14/01/2013 23:37

OMG that Elie Saab dress is exquisite. V spendy though.

FellatioNels0n · 14/01/2013 23:41

How utterly bargainous would this have been? I have the short tunic length version, also 35 quid in the sale, which I paid 95 for. Sad

FellatioNels0n · 14/01/2013 23:43

Still available in coral though.

aufaniae · 14/01/2013 23:51

What do you mean by winter colours? I know what autumn colours are, and I could have a go at summer, but a bit stumped by winter!

I have a vision of deep reds, fuchsia, purples, dark greens, but maybe I'm just making it up?

FellatioNels0n · 14/01/2013 23:58

unusual

If you can wear this without looking like a potato in a dishrag then I probably hate you.

lovely colour

real purdy tea dress stylee

FellatioNels0n · 15/01/2013 00:03

this is drop dead gorgeous if you are brave enough. Look at the detail on it - exquisite.

Just needs some strappy vertiginous heels in a lovely colour, and maybe a natty little pillbox hat, or a big turquoise flower.
