Larger Feet 8+

I'm trying to help my better half by finding out about larger shoes. She has size 10 feet and struggles to get shoes that are anything less than plain or extremely expensive (£150+)

Does anyone on here know of where she can get DECENT shoes/boots that are size 10? There seems to be a few places online in the USA, but nothing in the UK.

So where is good to look for her?

Longtallsally does large sizes, not sure what they are like though as only bought clothes from there.

Also try code EG25 for 20% off and free delivery and returns, hope it works.

elster · 11/01/2013 13:07

Yes, she uses them at the moment. But the range is not very good. Those that are half decent are then expensive.

Thanks for the voucher code though. She buys all her trousers from there, so handy. After Dorothy Perkins, etc group are cutting down their longer leg sizes.

Was going to say LTS or The Big Shoe Boutique. If she has got wide feet Evans got up to a 10 too.

AgathaF · 11/01/2013 13:39

Has she tried tall girls? Not the best selection, but maybe a few the others don't have.

Also Zalando Have quite a few in size 10. You can put your size in as a selection, along with other stuff like eg heel height, and they show you what they have available. I think they are based in Germany, but I have used them a few times and their deliveries are quick and returns are efficient too.

Fashion world does bigger sized foot wear.

There have been threads in the past with lots of useful links so try a search? I'm a 9 (43), bought some Dr Martens boots Smilewhich are fab. I often buy unisex such as converse or vans but I'm not girly.

Try Tall Women - it has a directory of sites worldwide. I've also put up lots on my own blog (hope this doesn't go against the rules but I don't make any money from it, it's purely there to help out bigfoots!).

If you are anywhere near London your best bet is Chiltern Street (Baker St Tube, then about 5-10 mins walk) - Magnus, Crispins and Totally Large Shoes all have shops there. They are all also available online but from personal experience I much prefer trying shoes on first.

Barefoot Tess in Baltimore, USA is absolutely brilliant but the shipping fees mean it can be expensive (can be $40 or more). Some fantastic bargains to be had in their sale though, especially if the exchange rate is good.

And if you're ever in Paris, Sagone have a large-size shop just by Parmentier metro station, and Palais de la Chaussure is opposite.

shadowland · 13/01/2013 14:43

Brantano have larger sizes too.

kiwigirl42 · 13/01/2013 14:56

thank you so much for your blog kernowgal. I have size 44 feet and shoe shopping is one thing that can bring me to tears.
I find Nike Air trainers (men's ones) fit my narrow feet really well. Marisota UK does shoes up to 9 (and larger - I bought some lovely RED!! size 44 ladies shoes with low heels)

Mrsrobertduvall · 13/01/2013 15:17

There's after eight shoes, which have a store in Bath or mail order.
I am a 9 or 10 depending on the make, but have some Boots from Duo which are size 42.

Kernowgal · 14/01/2013 17:27

A pleasure kiwigirl42! I think it says at the top that I started it because I was so utterly fed up with the shoe shopping options for bigfoots in London - our capital, fer chrissakes! The US has far more options but obviously the shipping costs are high, especially if the shoes don't then fit. Now I live in a remote part of the UK I've all but given up on buying new shoes.

I do look on Ebay from time to time, and TKMaxx often has shoes in larger sizes. I recall someone saying that the West Kensington branch is good for big sizes.

Hush Puppies go up to a 10 in some of their styles - worth a try. Although I find their sizing is very hit and miss - in some I'm an 8, others a 9 and still others are too small in a 9. Ditto Next size 9s - I can't guarantee they'll fit.

My blog needs updating as unfortunately quite a few of the smaller online shops have gone out of business due to the recession.

Kernowgal · 14/01/2013 17:30

Also worth remembering is that some shops now sell size 42 shoes as a 'size 9'. I don't know why this is as to me a size nine has always been a Euro size 43. So beware if buying online, eg Amazon - check the size info to make sure it's a 43 and not a 42.

DoItToJulia · 14/01/2013 17:36

Grr, I hate the way they size like that. I am a 9 or 10 and it too brings me to tears when i have to shop for shoes.I live in walking boots an done pair of ballet pumps for evenings or smarter (!) wear.

I will check out the blog too...I would really love to own nice shoes!

DoItToJulia · 14/01/2013 17:37

An done = and one.
