merrell ellenwood sizing question

i need a new waterproof coat (old one no longer waterproof after 12 years!) and this is the one that seems to come out top. I normally wear a size 10 in my coats but the ones I wear most are from Hobbs and I think they may be a bit generous. Can anyone with either an ellenwood or the previous version, the wakefield, give me an idea how true the sizing is. Have checked the website for measurements but wanted real life experiences before I press 'buy' - can't get to a stockist anywhere near me.

I am between a 12 and 14, normally a 12 in coats and went for the medium. Its perfect, I nearly went for the large and am so glad I didn't as the medium gives a nice fitted shape. For that reason I would say you would be a small but hopefully you will get some more replies to help you make your mind up!

I'm a 10 in most things (including a couple of Hobbs' jackets) and have the non-insulated Wakefield in a small. It's a perfect fit. I recently tried on the insulated Ellenwood in the same size and it seemed more generously cut but still OK. If I decide to buy one, I won't size down to XS - assuming that exists - at any rate.

thanks. i have put on a bit of weight cos of illness but am now back on track to be able to dog walk etc again and hoping it will fall off! hence tempted by 12 but really wanting to buy normal size. about to press buy!

Hi PeppaPig - does that give you enough room to wear a jumper under the coat too?

What size would be best for 8-10, an xs or small? I tried a small and fits on waist and hips but loose on top, not sure to try xs.or not? Thanks
