I'm looking for a beautiful scarf.

The trouble is that I don't know what exactly I'm looking for

I don't want lightweight. I don't want a woolly, knitted look. Something oversized is what I'm after, and warm, but must be gorgeous! Will probably mostly wear with a navy wool coat. Budget? Up to £100 I think, but preferably a bit less.

I know what you mean , I have a fabulous scarf from marks and Spencer's ( I know ) but its the perfect size . Big and wide no tassels , great material . I have looked and looked for others but ant fine any. They are all too thin and wispy . I like to wrap my round a few time and do a loop thing . Flimsy scarfs remind me of old women . Will watch with interest .

Quite often scarves look lush and full on the website photograph but then when you start wearing them they go all floppy and limp. I hate that.

I just bought this one and love it. It's huge, 50% wool 50% silk, so not bulky but still warm and oversized. They have loads of other gorgeous ones too.

Otherwise, definitely try TK maxx, they have a fab wide selection. I bought a large 100% wool scarf, bright colours for ?£12 last week.

Didn't know whether to start a new thread but decided to post here instead as people have posted recently.... Has anyone seen a scarf that would go with a black and white, tweedy herringbone coat? I want something large, light but warm as the original poster described. I am dark skinned so was originally thinking a yellow/chartreuse-y colour. But am off to NYC for the weekend in a couple of weeks and will be carrying a tan-coloured cross body bag and thought maybe teal would be a good fit? Because the coat is more than one colour, I was thinking a solid colour but with a bit of texture would be a better bet?? But am useless with scarves so am totally open to suggestions. Hope someone will help.

carrie I have that Cos one you linked to. I love it - it is brilliant for the price. Looks vv expensive. Was wearing it in Edinburgh yesterday and a couple of women said how much they loved it.
