Is it really worth paying alot for a tinted moisturiser?

Hi
I am looking haggard after nine months of broken sleep with baby and chasing after a very lively five yr old!

My face is dry so I want a tinted moisturiser just to make me look a bit healthier, add some colour and make me feel good as currently feeling rubbish about my looks.

I am always wasting money buying things in Boots that I think are nice but after a few days I think the colour's not right for me or it doesn't look that good. So today I went to HofF and tested out TM's from Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown. The LM I did think looked nice on me, very subtle but glowing but I was staggered at the price of £33! I mean, really why do they cost so much?!!The BB one was not as nice, looked a bit cakey on me and still £28!

So my question is, is it worth me paying out for the LM and hopefully getting it right and looking half decent or should I keep working my way through the cheaper ones hoping to get it right at some point? It's annoying that in Boots you can't test them on your whole face to get a more realistic look.

Any advice would be very welcome thanks.
