What does your 11 year old dd wear

Dd is starting to love clothes but we find some styles are too old some too young

She currently wears jack wills or super dry hoodies with jeans uggs or trainers / converse she tends to like more casual than dressed up so any surgest ions of shops to try would be great

Nothing with trendy names on it (like what you mentioned).
She fancies herself very into fashion and mostly wears castoffs from friends, that came originally from Next or New Look.
Y6, if that makes a difference.
skinnies and snug fitting long sleeve shirts, trainers (Clarks) and a furry bodywarmer.
Has the odd shiny item, including a party outfit with flat white strappy sandals we got in Primark 18 months ago (she never grows so clothes last forever).

if the house burnt down tomorrow & I couldn't source from jumble sales, I'd be back in Next or Primark, M&S, Debenhams, few local dept. stores.

Thanks for that ill give next and new look ago out primark only has a small children's area and they only go up to age 11 dd is really tall and nothing seems long enough.

She's mentioned a denim skirt and chunky tights so that's one thing to start us off.

She also needs a new weekend coat which is turning into a nightmare as she doesn't want a ski type jacket or wool ( she has wool solider type for school)

Today she is wearing a Nordicky jumper I found in the charity shop and skinny jeans inherited from MrsSchadenfreude's DD2.

Skinny jeans, tops from Next/H&M/M&S that kind of stuff, boots from Clarks.

It's a tricky age I find, hard to get the balance right without looking either babyish or too grown up. I also resent spending too much when they grow so fast! I've found recently that it works best to only buy something DD really loves and to have less clothes in general.

DD is 10 1/2 and quite a casual dresser - she wears a lot of dancy stuff (Pineapple - preferably in the sale - or that sort of look, eg cut off t-shirt over a vest) with either track pants, skinny jeans or leggings and boots or Converse/ high top trainers. She also likes denim shorts or a short skirt over tights or leggings. Coat-wise she's got a padded parka style one for school, plus a shorter fur trimmed bomber-type jacket, a jersey blazer, a denim jacket and endless hoodies (have managed to avoid the expensive labels so far!)

Shops that have stuff we both like tend to be few and far between but her clothes are mainly from Next, M&S, Gap and Tesco or Sainsburys. Zara can be good but very hit and miss - sometimes loads of lovely things, next time nothing. New Look seems as though it may be good but DD is very petite so doesn't fit into their clothes yet.

You'd be surprised how small New Look sizing goes, they aim for slinky malinky on 16yos which is merely a bit long on a small 11yo (I find).

Skinny or straight jeans, T shirt and hoodie. Trainers, boots or converse on feet. Very occasionally a very short skirt with leggings or thick tights with boots. No labels - she is currently wearing a Plain Lazy hoodie from TK Maxx with "Salad Dodger" on it, but that's as far as it goes. T shirts from Monoprix or Gap. She is at an "awkward" size in that she is usually too tall for the children's range (although she has some Old Navy stuff from the US, as this goes up to age 16). She has just graduated into adult jeans from Gap as the age 13 were too short and is currently sporting a pair of skinny jeans bought in the sale for 5 euros, 25" waist, 32" inside leg. She wore a tunicky thing and leggings for the school disco with some flat ballet pumps, but that's as "dressy" as it gets.

I have a 10 year old and a 12 year old.

The 10 year old wears jeans, leggings, shorts over tights etc. paired with t-shirts, hoodies (she favours zippy ones rather than over the head ones) and cardigans. Favourite shops for her are Joules, Mini Boden/some Johnnie B, M&S, Next, Zara, H&M. We've had some cracking TK Maxx finds too - including a £25 Ralph Lauren blazer!

The 12 year old wears jeans, leggings, shorts (denim only for her), short skirts (usually skater style, she has a couple of more fitted ones - generally in jersey type fabric), dresses over leggings (again jersey style, skater dresses). She pairs with vests and cardigans, t-shirts and hoodies etc. She favours Johnnie B, Jack Wills, Hollister, Zara, some H&M. She has some bits from River Island kids section, and some small topshop and New Look.

Shoe wise they both have canvas trainers (converse/vans), Uggs, ballet flats in various colours for smarter occasions and for when the weather improves and shoes/trainers for school. DD3 (12) has some leather ankle boots which she loves.

I love H&M, Zara and M&S for them. DD3 (12) won't wear M&S - she's too influenced by school mates and her older sister, despite the fact the clothes follow a very JW, Zara type style. TK Maxx is always worth a try too!

My DD will be 11 in June.
She's tall and slim, so most girls clothes have to be 13-14 yo but then are too big round the hips/waist.

She started off buying size 6 Primark clothes, size 6-8 tops.

She wears- leggings or thick tights with denim shorts and layered cami vests, sheer tops and light cardi style tops.
Ugg style (Next) boots or Converse boots (the over-the-ankle-ones)

No dresses . Occasional skirts on holiday.

Primark is her main shop.
Sainsburys girl all seem to be Hello Kitty
Some H&M she likes
M&S is a bit 'twee'
Matalan is ok for babies/toddlers but for older girls IMO they are a bit 'old'

Mostly stuff from H&M and Spots Direct.

Skinnies or leggings/jeggings. The skinnies are Mayoral (I think), the rest is from Gap and New Look. Couple of basics from ASDA and M&S. Occasionally shorts with tights.

On top she wears long Tshirts with the leggings, or shorter ones and a hoodie with the skinnies. New Look, Gap, Hollister, Salt Rock

Zip-up hoodies from Gap, Billabong, New Look, or long cardigans (New Look)

Converse or her current trainers which are McKenzie (I think).

The New Look 9-15 range is aimed at this awkward in-between age, but the quality is pretty dire, which is a pity because there isn't much else on our high street. She wouldn't be seen dead in Next clothes, even if their age 11 fitted her (they're all too short and wide), because they run the same range at age 11 as they do for 7/8 yr olds. There's more difference style-wise between 8 and 11 than there is between 11 and 14.

I was also going to recommend Mini Boden / Johnny B, particularly in the sales..

Pyjamas are all I've seen my 10 year old in lately. Oh very skinny black jeans and tops when she has had to leave the house. Mostly older sisters' cast offs from H&M or Gap. My 12 year old wears jeans and hoodies or stripey jumpers, mostly H&M.

My 11 yr old is in joggin bottoms & T shirts or skinny jeans and hoodies we did successfully manage to prise her into a dress for Christmas LOL

DD loves Old Navy (we're in Canada) and Abercrombie and Fitch. Mostly skinny jeans and t-shirts featuring superheroes or sports motifs, hoodies and FAME-style off-the-shoulder tops over camisoles. For dressier things, usually H&M. Shoes are mostly sneakers or Tom's plimsolls. Pink is banned.

DD2 is 12 and Fat Face seems to come up tops. She loves their tunic type tops paired with leggings or skinny jeans.

Our youngest daughter is this age. She is quite hard to buy for because she is quite physically mature . She fits in a size 8/10 of adults clothes or a 13/14 teen. She chooses her own clothes but I have a power of veto , which gets used often .

My 11 year old is happy in skinny/straight jeans which she wears with knee high boots. She's quite happy with a tshirt and loves her black cardi which goes over everything. I tend to get most of her clothes from M&S and Next. She does like fashion but none of her friends are real trend setters so that really helps - they just accept eachother as they are.

DD is 11 and going through a baby goth phase. She wears trousers from Lands End. She hates jeans so lives in the yoga pants. Her tops and hoodies mostly come from either H&M or Uniqulo. She's a bit restricted by her stout belief that clothes should be either black, purple or blue with the occasional red for light relief.

Has anyone ever bought anything from Abercrombie? Is this apart of Hollister wear does anyone know ?

DD loves Abercrombie. It's a little pricey but the cotton is really lovely; very soft and thick. The fit is slim but works well for DD who is a Skinny-Minnie. The jeggings and hoodies are particularly nice, I think.

Abercrombie was meant to be the older version of Hollister in America (even though there's a A&F kids). The style of clothes is very similar, though perhaps A&F is even more 'preppy', so even more shirts, fitted jumpers, that kind of thing.
