Help me. I have to go out to a nightclub tomorrow. Can I wear Converse and boyfriend jeans?

Sigh. If only.

A last minute arrangement with friends has turned into drinks and dancing. With two children under 3 it has been a while since I have needed "going out" clothes and have nothing that fits me anymore (have still got half a stone of baby weight).

I have a couple of hours tomorrow to run to a shopping centre with the usual DP, Next, Topshop, Primark etc.

What can I wear?! Im most happy in casual clothes and when I dress up I always still feel a bit studenty. My favourite dressy outfit would be a tea dress or 50's style skirt but you can't really wear these to a nightclub. Or else a long dressy top over leggings/black tights but I don't even know what's in fashion anymore. I'm thinking of skinny jeans with a nice top but have no clue if this is what the young glam people are wearing. I'm 30 but don't feel very young and glam anymore.

Any ideas so I don't look like a frump?

Wear what you feel comfortable in. Don't wear converses or trainers most clubs in my city have a dress code of no trainers (that includes daps and converses) and no hoodies or hats.

I'd wear a tea dress if I wanted to, why not or a skater dress if that's your style. www.riverisland.com/women/dresses/day-dresses/Navy-floral-tapestry-skater-dress-633635 you don't have to be amazingly dressed up if you don't want to and I say that as someone who always prefers to be over dressed then undressed Grin

Skinny jeans and a nice top with heels will be great. Shirts with a contrasting collar buttoned right up are on fashion, worn with a 50's skirt or peplum skirt and heels plus thick tights- getting me through the baby weight stage!

Not that I havw been put clubbing recently, but a safe bet would be jeans and heels with a glam top.
You need to be comfortable for the dancing, and stopping out until 4am
!

InNeedOfBrandy I was only joking about the jeans and trainers...maybe once many moons ago when I went to studenty clubs and everyone wore them! Thanks for that dress idea...its lovely...although I'll need to buy shoes to go with it...I can see this night out costing more than I had anticipated!

Thanks for these ideas. I can't believe that I used to be out several times a week with a different outfit every time and now I literally have nothing in my wardrobe that's suitable to wear.

oh nooo i really don't want to be out until 4am, thats my daughters wake up time for the day. I'm going to be suffering aren't I?!
