Where to find nice slippers?

Swiddle · 04/01/2013 14:22

I'm looking for nice slippers.
Not cheap ones, not childish ones, not in the shape of animals, not slipper-socks, not slipper-boots, not Dynasty-style-glamour-heels-with-pompoms.... just nice slippers, maybe ballet style but not necessarily.
There seem to be none around this side of Christmas.
Any suggestions?

Bump. Or perhaps no one has answered because there are no nice slippers ANYWHERE...?

I'm very fond of my Isotoner ballerinas. Is that the kind of thing you're after? They're very soft with suede soles.

I really like the sheepskin ones from Hush, they keep my feet cosy. Alternatively Uggs.
M&S usually do nice ones online.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 08/01/2013 20:04

Moshulu I have the Bo ones they are as cosy and comfy as any I have every tried, love them.

Have a look at Innis online there are a few nice slippers on there including some beautiful velvet slippers.

forevergreek · 08/01/2013 20:38

Haflinger- they are super warm/ comfy and non slip

awaywego1 · 08/01/2013 20:52

I'm loving my white stuff slippers-they are booties but they have other styles I believe.

Flossiechops · 08/01/2013 20:57

What about The White Company? Lovely, cosy and in the sale Grin

SilverSixpence · 08/01/2013 22:12

I bought the Ruby and Ed velvet slippers from Lakeland Leather they are half price so cheaper than elsewhere, I found a 10% code as well and their customer service is amazing. The slippers are gorgeous too.

kerstina · 08/01/2013 22:20

Thanks silversixpence those are the slippers I was after from Inisonline. £10.00 cheaper !

perceptionreality · 08/01/2013 22:22

Swiddle - I too have been looking for slippers that fit that description - most of the ones I've seen are awful.

MirandaGoshawk · 08/01/2013 22:23

I got mine from Boden. They are like ballet shoes, but velvet with a bow on the front with proper suede soles so should last me. They are Fab-u-lous, and Boden have 10% off at the mo.

Those Ruby & Ed velvet ones - can anyone tell me if they run large? I'm usually a 4 but occasionally a 3...

SilverSixpence · 09/01/2013 07:44

I would go for the bigger size, I'm normally a 6 but found them a bit tight so exchanged for a 7. But I'm also pregnant and think my feet may have grown a bit Shock

mumof3teens · 09/01/2013 08:28

SilverSixpence - can you tell me where you found the 10% off at Lakeland please?

Curlysueuk · 09/01/2013 08:47

I love the Ruby and Ed ones in velvet too........... I felt better with the larger size too

DameFannyGallopsBEHINDyou · 09/01/2013 08:52

Muji have lovely plain grey felt slippers with a fleecy lining - cosy but grown up.

perceptionreality · 09/01/2013 10:31

Thanks for your advice re: size. I am glad this thread was started - I have been looking for slippers all week.

SilverSixpence · 09/01/2013 10:32

It was here code is Webgains10

Just received my exchange, they are gorgeous! I returned the smaller pair on Monday, received yesterday and posted first class to arrive today - great service.

snowgal · 09/01/2013 11:13

Not cheap but really comfortable and I love them, have a pair in purple

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 09/01/2013 11:32

Ruby and Ed - lovely. And they have a sale on atm.

Toomanyworriedsonhere · 09/01/2013 12:57

I have gone for some birkenstocks, which can be worn with or without socks (so are good in the summer) and don't look too slipperish - suede cloggish ones, not sandals

Swiddle · 09/01/2013 13:19

Mumsnetters, I love you. Thank you Smile
