Black with black

I've always had a thing about not liking wearing black with black if its not exactly the same black. Am I making sense?
However I'm not sure if its a fashion faux pas or just personal to me.
I'm now starting to wear mat clothes and as you know you can't be too fussy with the choices out there. I have done a bit of online mat clothes shopping and ordered some black work trousers that fit perfectly and I've also ordered a black blazer style jacket for work. I normally wear suits or dresses for work think smart office. However I don't fancy spending a lot of money on maternity suits. By ordering this jacket which was half price I thought I could use it with any work trousers when I'm meeting customers. But it's a different black to any trousers I've seen and material so would you wear it or return the jacket? Sorry for rambling!

This all sounds great to me. I don't mind black on black, and maybe a slight contrast somewhere to slice it up, like a scarf, shirt in white/peach/pattern, etc.

I have recently started to appreciate black a little more, after having avoided it for yrs (am 38 and very blonde/pale so thought it too harsh), but suddenly I seem to suit it all over again, as if my body just said 'hey!'

Also like pairing black with navy recently, there's a way this can be done right, and when it works, I love it! Especially with lovely gold or silver accents like bracelets, necklace, chain belt, and hardware on leather bags, etc.

Fab thanks. I would have a different colour top, probably white or pink. I need to start experimenting with scarves and jewellery I think. I'm very boring!
