So I've finally decided to buy some Uggs-but which ones?

Been wanting to for years and I have some Christmas money-so i'm thinking now or never....
I have a pair of Uggs from Australia that my friend brought back for me-think they are from Purely Merino or something. Thay are so warm and snuggly but after 3/4 years of wear the soles are shot and have no grip at all.

Which ones should I get?
I know there are a lot of people here who like the Celtic sheepskin ones but I think they look longer at the front than the Ugg Australia ones, and I don't need my feet to look any bigger!! Does anyone have a pair of both that could compare them for me?

I like the Bailey and the Noira ones, or do I just get classic ones? Does anyone have any of those-pros/cons?

Also which height is best? I'd be wearing with dresses, leggings, skinnies. I'm 5'8". The ones I have at the moment are prob the same as the long ones.

I know I have more questions but the dd's are fighting so I better post and run!

I bought some Costco own brand ones for my DD 3 years ago, I sprayed them with a waterproofer and they kept her feet warm and dry.
Past couple of years I've got some from Next (I won't pay £££ for her boots as she's 10 yo so her feet are growing like weeds)

I don't have any but I love the Bailey.

I got the noira in chocolate brown leathet and luff them. They go with everything, v comfy, super warm and I get lots of people asking me where I got them etc. not cheap at £235 but I asked the local shop for a discount and he gave me 10% off. Better than nothing.

Mrsap-are they ok in the rain? And did you get your usual size?

I would go into an Ugg shop as they are having their sale at the moment.

Defo recommend the Emu boots, I bought the minis and love them! QVC have them on easy pay today!

No probs in the rain (or mud). Just like normal leather boots, quick wipe and they're back to new. I have stopped wearing all other shoes for now.

Oh and yes, I am an 8 and that's what size I asked them for. Perfect fit. At first they felt a bit snug but the guy in the shop assured me the sheepskin would flatten in a day or so. Which it did. Now they r just right.

I got a pair from a local shoe shop 4 years ago at a cost of £50, sprayed them with Water Proof spray and the soles are starting to wear away now but its not noticeable to anyone other than me.

I got a new pair from Amazon in the black market sale for £25 just before Christmas too :o

I love my tall bailey button uggs in a medium brown colour but not sure they look great with any dress other than a chunky knitted dress. They do look good with leggings and long jumpers with leggings and wooly hat.

I have some cardie ones which I think are the least versatile, can pretty much only wear them with leggings as they look frumpy with dresses or skirts.

I wouldn't recommend sand in any style as they get ruined very quickly but definitely would go for uggs above any other boot, I still have some from 7 years ago which are still vaguely wearable.

You can get your Uggs resoled - my Canterbury Sheepskin ones from NZ wore down so I took them to a shoe repairer and they are like new.

Just a quick reply as I need to get to bed, I've tried to stop myself wanting uggs and have tried a load of other boots over the years, but I keep coming back to them! I've had rocket dogs which were great but they have synthetic insides and eventually ended up smelling. There doesn't look to be much difference in price between uggs and emus so would prob rather go for the uggs.

Breatheslowly-I'm very interested in getting them resoled-roughly how much did that cost? Will see if I can do that as well and use my old ones for less smart iyswim.

Strawberry-that was what I was thinking-maybe the baileys wouldn't go with everything but I do love the way they look!

Would the shorter ones be silly?

Celtic Sheepskin ones are certainly not longer at the front and their soles are much better than Uggs.
I have two pairs, one of which has been re-soled twice.
Their sale is on at the moment, with amazing bargains.

I think it might have been £12-£16.

Fresh-which ones do you have? They just look a different shape, my dad's partner has some and they just didn't look quite right-didn't look too hard though tbh. Maybe it's because she has them it's put me off?!

I have no recs except to say don't get the ugg Kensington . I am 5 foot tall and they are heavy ,, clumpy , and look like I'm wearing something my DP has lent me . The comments I got when I wore them in the snow a couple of years back , comments like " what's on your feet , have u nicked your DH's builders boots " it was embarrassing . also with ugggs or at least these ones it's recommended you go a size up . So I was wearing a size 7 which on a large woman and short at 5ft they looked like clowns boots

£250.00 those cost me and I only wore then 1/2 dozen times .

My 15 year old son wears them now . He wants to look like joey Essex from TOWIE

I have just got some Ugg type boots called Beach Feet. They are suede, with a wool lining - lovely and warm. They are no different to Uggs imo, but not so expensive.

i got some emu's in the sale at tk maxx, reduced to £58.
