Good quality maternity jeans?

Help!
Have just reached the point where my existing jeans are not going to wearable
for a full day at work (15 weeks though I may have just eaten too much at Christmas!).. So think its time to look for some maternity jeans.

Last time I had two pairs of under bump skinnies from Isabella Oliver - which were fine although not that comfortable and required lots of hoiking up.
Don't think I can face them this time - I think I am heavier and they are tight on my thighs already too.

Can anyone spare me a frustrating high street trawl and recommend the holy grail of maternity jeans?
I am a 14 - pear shaped - thinking over bump might be more comfortable for the long haul.
Happy to invest if they will last and be comfortable as well as smartish.

Thanks in advance.

I was same shape and size as you at the same stage in PG2, and I don't think you can go wrong with H&M Mama over bump jeans. Also had some decent under bump ones from Pumpkin Patch.

I love the Red Herring over bump maternity jeans from Debenhams too

Am pregnant with my 3rd and am going to have to get some soon Shock

LetsKateWin · 01/01/2013 17:03

I loved my Gap over-the-bump maternity jeans

lovethesun1 · 01/01/2013 17:09

I have 2 brilliant over the bump ones from New look and one pair of so so under the bump ones from Next. The h&m ones look nice but haven't personally tried them

I had under bump ones for my last pregnancy. Was forever hoiking them up. This time I decided to try the over te bump kind-and I'm in love! I'll never go back! I am 20 weeks and have a pair from mothercare (skinnies-actually very comfy, but very much on the small side. I definitely needed size up and not sure they'll last). Also have a pair of noppies (I think I've got that right!) off eBay. They are straight legged rather than skinny and also veerrry comfy (but way too long so will need doctoring).
The over bump seem to offer a bit of support too. Wish I'd tried them last time. A nice extra layer too in the winter.

They're all shite IME. the best of a bad lot were H&M over the bump. Really comfy and just about stayed up.

Fairylea · 01/01/2013 18:21

For me I brought everything over bump and h and m or mamas and papas. They were the most comfortable things. Next jeans ended up in the bin!! Under the bump just killed me.

teacher123 · 01/01/2013 18:31

I had some over the bump skinnies from mamas and papas, they were expensive (£40ish) but good.

dinkystinky · 01/01/2013 18:33

I got some from Seraphine when pregnant with DS2 and loved them.

melliebobs · 01/01/2013 18:33

I loved my Mamas and Papas over the bump boyfriend jeans. Liked that they had an internal belt too. And they are very generously sized! My ample size 16 ass fitted a size 12 very comfortably Grin

mummysmellsofsick · 01/01/2013 19:13

I loved my seraphine ones but from 6 months onwards I was in tent dresses- more comfy than any jeans

ILikeOwls · 01/01/2013 19:18

I love love love mama jeanius. They fit really well and I could wear them under or over my bump. The fabric was soft and comfy but also a great wash. I just adored mine

blueberry2310 · 01/01/2013 19:47

I had some great 7 for all mankind over the bump jeans. I got them on eBay. They were so comfy and lasted two pregnancies so cost per wear wasn't too bad. Steer clear of Topshop maternity jeans. The most uncomfortable jeans ever.

Liveinthepresent · 01/01/2013 21:03

Thanks so much everyone - main consensus seems to be I am right in thinking over bump is the way to go. Am definitely more comfort orientated this time around!

Will investigate H&M as many of you rate those - though I have to say I wouldn't ever expect H&M normal jeans to be the sort that would do me any favours so hope maternity range is different!

iloveowls came across mamajeanius online earlier before I started the thread - never heard of them before - did you buy online? Might be worth a look if H&m no good...

Hoping to get to some shops tomorrow.

Thanks

I was in same position as you this time last year. HIgh st offerings dreadful. I am 5.3 and approx size 14. Eventually found online site where your size leg length matched to products. I,ve a pair of funmum jeans, over bump style. They codt 45 pounds and were worth every penny. Wore them all the time and they are still in great condition. Wish they still fit as better than curent marks pair (my 1st post pregnancy purchase). I'd be happy to sell them to you or anyone else who is interested.

thehappycat · 04/01/2013 22:48

I'm a bit fan of seraphine but don't think they do over-bump.

Liveinthepresent · 07/01/2013 22:57

Thanks !
I didn't have success with H&M but then found mama jeanius ones in the sale for £25 on NCT website - thought it was worth a try - am awaiting delivery!
If not it will be seraphine next - they do over the bump and stock in John Lewis.
