I am due dc2 in a couple of months and I have some birthday money to spend. Ideally I'd like a few staple items to get me through the fist few months until I hopefully shed the baby weight. I will mostly be at home, but doing school run etc so probably some comfy but trendy shoes/boots and a nice coat/jacket are top of my list. I don't mind shelling out on the shoes part as they are something that will last. Just want some stuff that I can throw on and look ok in rather than a mish mash.

TIA

mm after my baby Id wear a pair of converses with skinny jeans and tweed jacket ...I remember I didnt want to spend lots of money so got a couple of dresses from george and wore with leggings and big cardis, I was hoping after few months I could bin them or if still good ( which they were) donate to charity. i tried using my pre pregnancy or pregnancy clothes if possible...skinny/oversized tshirt biker boots thats me so d wear big cardi hiding baby bump and scarf etc.

For the short time after birth I would go for comfort - it can still be stylish!

I would go for lots of leggings/oversized cardigans, smock tops - keep the top half loose and baggy and the bottom half showing off your pins ..

Don't forget if you're breastfeeding you're going to want easy access tops.

I spent a lot of money in Primark/George/New Look as I was able to get 'normal' clothes in the next size up and even still to this day some of the smock tops I wear!!!

I've bought a few things from Great Plains, they have a few dresses that are stretchy enough for breastfeeding and some buttoned shirts. I've had to guess sizes (38weeks pg now!) so haven't spent too much on anything. Other places to look might be Hush/Toast for simple casual clothes you can mix and match, you can accessorize with scarves/jewellery if you want to jazz things up.
